@underwood I totally have! Heidi went to the same school as I did and I totally love everything Minkyu has done. A lot of my own Wicked designs were inspired by his work.
Your artwork is awesome! I’m totally following you on tumblr.
Does anyone know what skills/ experience they are actually looking for in a production intern. I’ve done some minor PA stuff but Ive never done anything with animation Production intern sounds so vague…just trying to keep calm these next few weeks
I think its safe to say that if we don’t get contacted by the end of the month - chances are we won’t be accepted. There are exceptions, sometimes they have a spot open unexpectedly and then they call the next in line. So there is still is a chance to get a call in April.
I don’t know if I would necessarily rule yourself out if you don’t hear anything in March. In the past, it would appear that Pixar goes in groups. So, for example: PUP interns are screened, animation, production, and so forth (not necessarily that order, but you get the idea). I know for the 2013 animation internship, for example, someone got an acceptance call in May.
Usually the first round of rejections puts a good idea of where they are (reviewing what intern pool). So more waiting is ahead.
If you’re still waiting to hear from your internships - don’t worry, you’ll hear from Disney/Pixar whether you’re accepted or not. Still doesn’t help the anxiety though
@Dore – I think it’s safe to bet that they’re looking for candidates with a production background in features and big title shows, either live action or animated. Being a senior is probably a bonus for hiring managers.
@Teabat Moved from Submission to In Progress on one of the Disney PI’s. Last year, same internship, had my phone screener the following week during SXSW. Think the deadline was a week earlier though in 2014.
