PixarPlanetdA Icon Contest

Since we’ve become an official dA club, our club icon of an LGM from Toy Story has become rather stretched. So, we need something new to fill our 100 x 50 icon space.

Requirements-
-Its size must be 100 x 50 pixels.
-It must contain the name ‘PixarPlanetdA’ in some form.
-It should contain a recognisable Pixar image, for example the Luxo lamp- preferably something universal to do with Pixar (you can stick with the idea of using an LGM, if you’d like). It doesn’t HAVE to have this, but it is preferable.
-Each member can submit up to three entries.
-It may be animated, but non-animated entries are also allowed.
-Entries must be submitted to the gallery folder labelled 'Icon Competition
-If it hasn’t been submitted to this folder, it doesn’t count.

And that’s it! Be creative, and make sure you follow these dates and deadlines-

Dates-

Opening date: 15th April
Closing date: 30th April
Voting will begin: 1st May
Voting will end: 8th May

The winner will be announced in the first journal after the voting has ended.

Voting will be a little bit different from now on. Instead of voting in a voting deviation, members will be able to vote by sending the club a note. More details of how this will be done will be released when voting begins.

Prizes-

The deviation will be the club’s featured favourite until the next competition.
The deviation will become the club’s new icon.
The winner will recieve a one month subscription to deviantART.

Question: Do we have to create our own images (draw, paint, etc.) or can we just photomanipulate ones from the Internet (like members have done for fan sigs and avatars)? :slight_smile:

Wow, it’s that fast already! :open_mouth: I see only Hannahmation has submitted, so it’s pretty much a no contest. Unless the deadline is extended and this is promoted more heavily? :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been busier than I anticipated in the past few days, but I should be free after Wednesday. But it looks like the deadline has elapsed. Woohoo.

We’ve got two submissions so far (though we did have three- one seems to have disappeared…), by Mekki and thewisecookiesheet. So because we’ve got more than one submission, I’m afraid I can’t extend the deadline, thedriveintheatre, sorry, it would be a bit unfair to those who rushed for the original deadline (I know how that feels with school coursework sometimes :laughing:). Plus the deadline has been a bit short for this one because we really are desperate for a new icon- the stretched LGM is looking a little tired, haha.

But we’ll have plenty of other competitions in the future though, so you’ll have plenty of chances to participate then. :smiley:

If you have any ideas about promotion that’d be great, thedriveintheatre. Aside from making myself a signature, something I unfortunately didn’t have time to do for this contest, I’ve been struggling to think of other ways of letting people know about PPdA’s competitions.
