I’ve been collecting plushies for about a few years now. It began with a plush Stunky (a skunk Pokémon) which I got from eBay. And then some years later, a few plush Yoshis I bought at a game store. Then I got a plushie Toad from the same game store for Christmas, and the next christmas I got a plush Kevin, sometime later a plush Conker (that was 30 bucks and took about an hour to find on eBay) and a plushie Mario. And, of course, a badger. I also have a truckload of skunks. Because I like skunks.
(I also have a few nameless animals, but these ones are my most favourite.)
So, anyone still collecting plushies?
I’m still searching for a plush Banjo-Kazooie, plush Dug, plush Fone Bone (from the comic saga Bone) plush Luigi that’s well made like that Mario I have, and MAYBE if I’ll see How to Train Your Dragon, a plushie of Toothless/Night Fury. Aw, he’d make a great plushie…
Ah, I love soft toys. I used to have quite a few but I’ve whittled my collection down to the essentials now- a Goldilocks doll I’ve had since I was born (and was made for me by my Godmother), soft toy versions of the Powerpuff Girls and Bugs Bunny and Sylvester, a couple of lizards filled with sand and a soft toy Toucan that’s been through a lot. In particular, sleepovers involving sleeping in the conservatory of a friend’s house. The glass would get very misty because of the condensation from all of our body warmth, and once one of my friends threw said Toucan against the glass, leaving a perfectly-formed imprint. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that image.
Kevin plush! Wicked collection, Badger. I hope they have rat creature dolls, since I’m partial to the anti-villains. And seriously, they should consider Toothless plushies!
As a full-blooded male (as far as full-blooded males go), I’m not ashamed to admit I have owned plushies… as a kid.
When I was about ten years old, my dad returned from a trip in China. He called my siblings and I to his room and he opened his briefcase. Inside were six Beanie Babies, with little ‘adoption’ tags (This was back when they were the rage in the 90s). We had two of the adorable suckers each. I can still remember the names of mine… Congo the gorilla and Hissy the snake. Hissy was suppose to be a guy but some reason I made it a girl. Gender equality, I guess.
My bro got a lion and an iguana. My sis got a rooster and a giraffe. My sis and I followed the Zodiac with the snake and rooster, while my bro had the lion cause he was a Leo. Naturally, my bro and I would mercilessly taunt our sis by making our predators ‘devour’ her docile creatures. I remember we would slide them down the banisters for morning breakfast. I think my brother’s iguana started ‘bleeding’ beads from a tear in the seams after a while… sometime before or after moving from the house in which we got them, my parents must have given them away.
I did own a Bugs Bunny doll while my bro chose Taz and my sis Tweety for a KFC promotion… I always did like the ‘straight’ man while my brother went for the mavericks. These were also lost to the languishes of time.
Let me see… other than that, I currently have a disturbing-looking pink dog doll my sis got as gifts at Macy’s from New York last year, sitting on my bookshelf.
Great plushies you have there, Badger. I’m also a collector of plushies, although most are ducks but I also have two penguins (one of them sings Jingle Bells), Simba, Hedwig from Harry Potter, a pig that sings Old McDonald in a funny way, an otter, Mickey in his Musketeer clothing, Minnie, Gill from Finding Nemo, Stitch, Manny, Sid and Scratte from Ice Age, a chocobo, a pigeon, a goose and Tiana and Naveen.
I have a skunk collection too! I wish I could post a picture of them. I still love stuffed animals, I’d rather shop for them more than clothes. Mostly I buy skunks though.(but they’re hard to find.)
Thanks for the complements on my fairly small collection, pplz!
Skunklover: Yeah, whenever I see plushie skunks I always buy them. Now I’ve got about 6. Quite sad that almost no toy factory makes them… skunks are so cute.
I have like, countless The Lion King plushies!! TLK is my favorite non-Pixar movie!! I also have a few plushies from 101 Dalmatians, Lady & The Tramp, The Fox and the Hound, Bambi, but no Pixar ones.
I love plushies! They’re a great weakness of mine really. Right now I have:
-a GINORMOUS Bolt, and a Rhino plush keychain (can’t fin a Mittens to complete the collection )
-Baby Kevin plush, even comes with his/her own egg.
-Tiana, Naveen, and Ray
-Stitch
-Wall-e and Eve
-Jack Skellington
-Mumble from Happy Feet
-A panda bear
-A Folkmanis wolf puppet
-a baby tiger
-a realistic ginger Ty cat
Hedwig
-Neopet’s plushies from the early 2000s when I still like them (includes dessert Aisha, dalmation-type Gelert, and a green Kacheek)
-a little white kitten
-a Ty bear made to look old fashioned
Okay, I’ll update mine. I have 2 Build-A-Bear cats, Tigger, Pooh, Eeyore, Zurg, Chip, Baloo, some webkinz donkey who resembles Eeyore, the Grinch, Mickey, Simba, Nala, and Jessie.
Since I’m still young, I still collect a tooon of plushies. There’s a whole corner of my room just filled with them. I grabbed a select few and snapped a picture for you guys.
Obviously that’s Lotso on the top. He’s my current favorite.
Second row from L to R is Wall-E, Brobee from Yo! Gabba Gabba, and a Chao from the Sonic series.
And on the floor: A bunny I rescued from Value City, Tails from The Sonic series, a Poogle from Neopets, Bijou from Hamtaro, some Hedgehog I recently found, an otter I just picked up from a zoo, Mozzarella from Tokidoki, a homemade sheep plush I got at an anime convention, Captain Kirk from Star Trek, an elephant, and a chicken!
Kirk has the most interesting story - I got him from a claw machine after seeing the new Star Trek last year. He’s really long, and got stuck the wrong way on top of the hole where the toys drop through. I left my information with the theater, and they got him out for me the next time their restocker came around. Him and Lotso sleep on my bed with me!
Ach. I don’t think I can get all of mine without having to take a bunch of photos. I do have a “character corner” that includes an autographed Jessie doll . That’s the only one I really feel like mentioning at the moment XD
And apparently, Badger, there are BABY Kevins that come out of eggs! I don’t know if I’ve told you this already, though
Don’t have any pictures but I have an EVE one, Mario, Donkey Kong and Yoshi, a graduation elephant (i.e. an elephant wearing a cap and gown), a breast cancer bear (came with an auction I won in which the profits were donated to breast cancer), Dug and two Remys…and maybe more that I’ve forgotten about.
I went to the Disney store yesterday, and had a blast in the soft animal section, there were so many I wanted to take home! I have a new love for plushies now.
For the record, I have lots of plushies, most of which come from claw machines (I’m a wizard at those things!), but honestly, I think my mom just wants them all to disappear.
