LOL Honestly, I used to kinda wonder the same thing. Potato Head was always nasty towards Woody. he makes that comment in the beginning; “Of course Woody ain’t worried. He’s been Andy’s favorite since Kindergarten.” he says in such a nasty and almost anger sounding tone, that it made me wonder if it was possible Potato Head was Andy’s favorite BEFORE Kindergarten and he’s resented Woody ever since. I’m not sure if he ever intended to start a revolt against Woody, but I was always under the impression that because of the stuff I mentioned, it’s possible he resents Woody and used Buzz as a way to get back at him for possibly taking his place as Andy’s favorite.
Wow, that article was very interesting to read. However, I’ve always had the feeling that Mr Potato Head was jealous of Woody, because of some of the things he said to him in the beginning of the first.
However, during the end chase when he finds out Woody was helping Buzz all along, he feels guilty and helps Slinky to bring them into the van. And in the second film, he even has a devastated look on his face when Woody is kidnapped and helps the rest of the toys to look for him and save him.
If you ask me, as much as a jerk he was in the first film, I’d say he later learned his lesson and began to like Woody more.
I’ve always said he was a jerk, and I’ve always hated him. But, I never said that, because I don’t want another lecture from a 7 year old who can’t type.
