Does anyone know how long the Oscar ceremony usually takes until it arrives at Best Picture?
Haha, skipping to the best parts, eh Totoro? I’ll be doing the same- as it’s on at 1am here, I’ll be recording it and then watching it then next day, and I’m definitely not going to sit there for the whole however many hours it is. 
Hannahmation - I’ll try to make it to the chat room around that time, although I can’t promise anything. More than likely, I won’t be able to participate until around 6:30 PM or 7:00 PM, but we’ll see.
totoro - The Oscars usually last for about four hours or more, if I’m not much mistaken, and I believe that the “Best Picture” award is saved for last. “Best Animated Feature” is awarded to the chosen nominee during the middle of the ceremony, I think. I could be wrong, though. Heh. You’d think I’d know these things, seeing as I’ve watched the Academy Awards for years…

It so happens I’ve got a five hour break between classes for the exact length of the awards (assuming it’s four hours long)… but I may be busy, so I’ll see if I can pop in for an hour or two… in case I don’t however, I’ll check up on you guys later in the evening Sydney time.
I’ll try and come, but I’m gonna be a little late; production ends at 5:30 that day. I’d be bummed if it was anything else obscuring my Oscars time. I should get home in time for Best Picture though…

It’s highly unlikely for Up to win Best Picture, but who knows, maybe there’ll be another miracle like we had eight years ago at the Berlin Film Festival, when Spirited Away unexpectedly tied with Bloody Sunday for the top prize.
