Predictions for Toy Story Toons

This is a thread for the possibly upcoming Toy Story Toons. You can post any ideas for episodes you have. Enjoy!

I think the new Toy Story Toons should take place in Bonnie’s room after Toy Story 3 (in a Toy Story Treats sort of way) to help show people even more that Andy’s toys have adjusted to their new owner and are all happy with her, even though the credits did show that they were doing fine. I would put more Rex+Trixie moments on the top of my list of things I’d want to see. Maybe even some appearances of Chuckles the Clown.

^ pretty much that exactly.

What Flik-E said is basically what I hope the Toy Story Toons is like. I love Bonnie’s toys! I hope we see more of Dolly and Buttercup.

I’m hoping they’ll put more creativity into this endeavor than Cars Toons. I can’t help but think it’ll be just as formulaic, though.

me too, though the Cars franchise doesnt really appeal to me anyway (I cant get past a humanless world, about machines who only exist because we built them for us in the first place) so it takes more to impress me with these characters.

Toy story on the other hand, even if its just a predictable gag Ive seen over an over in other shorts, I can at least enjoy the animation. theres a lot more freedom the animators have with facial expressions and body language than they ever had with cars, so I can tolerate seeing them in some bland shorts more than I can Cars.

Of course I do hope their really good, there is potential there. especially if there’s any kind of continuity/canon involved, unlike the toy story treats.

I’d like it to focus on minor characters who were never given a clear conclusion, such as Andy’s other toys and, I know it’s a stretch, the mutant toys. I’d also like to see how things are run at Sunnyside. Especially how [spoil]Sarge and his men[/spoil] fit in. But still, the obvious choice, like you’ve all stated is the main cast in Bonnie’s room, which I still wouldn’t have a problem with.

Not like I don’t like Bonnie’s room adventures and such, but it’d be cool to see things from the past too. Maybe some more of the home video footage in a bittersweet short dedicated to the toys past (showing some Bo Peep And Woody moments) and such. Or maybe an episode of Woody’s roundup, or a humorous “deleted” part of TS3 starting from when Lotso’s gang resets Buzz to Ken being assigned to convince him he’s at star command, I could see their interaction being hilarious

I thing I think we need to avoid is expecting any kind of emotional weight to these. I mean, outside of possibly the short in front of Cars 2, where they could take it more seriously, these toons are solely intended to be funny. if they tell any kind of story, exist in continuity, great. but I don’t think we should expect them to get serious long enough to really do anything like show us what happened to Bo or Wheezy.

the mutant toys might have a higher chance of getting an explanation, as long as they can be funny while doing so. but they cant be funny about the other two things, or do much in the way of bitter sweet. they want something kids can jump in and enjoy instantly.

You can probably expect a lot of this type of thing.

Its just a fun thing that doesn’t make sense when you think about it too much. such as why would Jessie be at Andy’s old house? And why isn’t there any siding along the wall? This room never existed in the movies.

For Andy’s toys, it’s already explained why they’re not there, but I’m still curious about where they are exactly (hopefully they stayed together). Like you said, it doesn’t have to be story concious, just showing them in their new environments.

For the mutant toys, I would have never expected them to be in funny situations (except for the armless Combat Carl that kept getting knocked down), but then along came the Toy Story Treats…

I agree to that. And even though Cars is Pixar’s weakest film one reason I still like the original is because it still has that emotional side to it with telling Lightning’s story as all Pixar films do. The Cars Toons shorts on the other hand are kind of silly and amusing, but sometimes I’m watching one like Tokyo Mater and they kind of make me think “Am I watching Pixar or DreamWorks?”. That’s why I worry that Cars 2 may lack that same kind of feeling if it’s going to focus a lot more on Mater than Lightning.

I wanna see one where Andy baby sits Bonnie

I think it’s deffinately going to deal with Buzz in his spanish mode, and play time with all the new toys and Bonnie. Maybe focus on Trixie and Rex and their gaming. Hmm…probably something about Mr. Pricklepants performances. Maybe the toys will all put on a play!

I’m actually more curious to see what the new DVD short for Toy Story 3 is going to be about. If the new Toy Story Toons is going to feature Woody and Co., then what will the new dvd short feature? My guess is that since PIXAR really likes to have those kinds of shorts as a retelling of the film but from a different perspective (ie BURN-E, Jak Jak Attack), I think it would be really interesting to see Toy Story from the human’s perspective.

Hadn’t thought about that, so in a way we’re going to get our first toy story toon come November 9th.

I’m guessing it’ll be something with bonnies toys though.

If the DVD short doesn’t involve the toys at Bonnie’s house, I would love for it to feature Zurg, and how he got to Sunnyside in the credits.
