Presto

I love this! xD

[spoil]Such quickness and violence! Lol! It was hysterical! Loved the bit when the bunny put the hat to the vacuum and sucked the magician’s head up into the hat.

My sister didn’t like it much 'cause we said that she treats her dog the same way that guy treated the rabbit.[/spoil]

I found a genuine PIXAR in-joke already! [spoil]Watch closely (perhaps in slow-mo) as Alec empties out Presto’s sleeve. You’ll see the Luxo Jr. ball come bouncig out! YAY! You can also see it a few seconds later sitting under the table as the camera pulls out and pans down when Presto pulls his pants off.[/spoil]

See it here: img127.imageshack.us/img127/6351 … okewx1.jpg
And here for [spoil]a few seconds later[/spoil]: img300.imageshack.us/img300/4981 … ke2tw4.jpg

Woah that second screencap looks weird.

GREAT short, in my opinion.

By the way, this is my first post!

Oh dude, I seriously didn’t notice that! That was a really nice find there.

And welcome to Pixar Planet eratosthenes

I just saw it and I must say WOW!

This is like The Incredibles of Pixar shorts. It did not feel like a Pixar short. Doug Sweetland has outdone himself. And I must concur, he should direct a feature.

Simply amazing! Now I just need to see WALL•E.

bawpcwpn - We have a thread on Doug directing a feature in the “The Pixar Studio & People” section… you might want to check that one out.

Anyway, this is by far my favorite Pixar short film. The animation and rendering was smoothly done. It looked fantastic, plus the facial expressions were so dead on and believable… well, the facial controls are getting better all the time - currently, I believe, they have over 150 controls just on the face.

It’s hilarious, it has great characters… it’s, it’s just genius, and I love it, and… well, you get the idea.

Now that I’ve seen it I can honestly say that I did not like it at all! Five minutes full of cruel sadism! There is nothing funny about a rabbit who tortures a magician. What the hell were those MPAA dudes thinking when they gave it rating G? Worst thing that Pixar has ever done!

No reason not to love a short film based on WB shorts. Wb cartoons are no doubt the greatest on earth…and of course of the greatest 2d animation to date. It’s nice to see some wacky humor in our generation for once.

hahahaha I just got to thinking about this short today.wow… It was seriously hilarious. I wanna see it again and again… I should buy it off itunes now

Edited. I combined both of your posts. – Mitch

Which one did you guys like more: Lifted or Presto? Personally I would go with Presto.

I think I like Presto a little more but both are really close.

I have to go with Lifted there, but I love sci-fi, so i’m probably kinda bias.

I liked Lifted better, but Presto is still hilarious! I especially liked Alec, his little teeth chatter says so much! Great observations eratosthenes and welcome to Pixar Planet!

It’s like picking your favourite child. Very hard…for some!!! I’ll say Presto for me.

When it comes to what made me laugh the hardest, it becomes very close but I think Lifted barely comes away with it. But I love the characters, the concept and magic of Presto.

Thats exactly what I was going to say!

Oops, sorry for taking the words right out of ya Casey. You can comment anything about Presto if you like. Anything you want to say, just say it. Who knows? We might agree on something.

I didn’t mean to say that it in like a whining kind of way.

Oh I know that. I think it was kinda neat you and I thought of the same thing.

I gotta go with Presto over Lifted, because to me, the jokes in Presto seemed much less predictable. Once we learned that the guy was not getting out of the house easily, we could deduct from there what would happen

That said, Lifted is like Apple Pie, sweet and dependable, while Presto is like Lemon Pound Cake, while just a little less sweet, the lemon just kicks in with every bite.

OK, add that to the list of worst analogies in the world

Actually I’d say that that analogy was not only quite good (and tasty!) but very appropriate for the two shorts as well.

Yeah , I know what mean when you say Lifted was a little predictable, but It was still very well done.
