Puss in Boots (2011)

I think the movie is going to be a good one. I wasn’t sure before but Puss and for sure star in his own movie.

I’m excited to meet new characters in this film also, although I doubt any of them will be cooler than Puss.

So it looks like Puss in Boots is going with the same kind of video marketing campaign that Tangled did last fall with the spoof commercials…and they’re absolutely hilarious!!!

“Curiosity tried to kill him once…then apologized, and politely left.” 8D LOL!!!

I saw the trailers and I wasn’t really impressed. It must be that I hate anything related to Shrek that I might advoid this even though he won’t be in this film. 8D

I’d be the first to agree with anyone that Shrek 3 and 4 were terrible. The only good thing about those 2 movies was Puss in Boots. That cat made those two movies watchable. I think now that Shrek and Fiona are out of the way, this movie will be really great because it’s focusing completely on him. It’s going to be something completely new and not the same old ‘bad guy tries to take over the crown and kill the ogre’ plot.

C’mon, how could anyone resist this adorable face???

I completely agree. I didn’t want to watch Shrek Forever After because I knew it wasn’t going to be anything new and that’s exactly what it was. I would still perfer Shrek Forever After over Shrek the Third.

It looks better then Shrek 3 and 4. I think I’ll go to see it.

After watching the Puss in Boots trailer, and thinking about HTTYD, the Kung Fu Panda movie and their trailers, I started thinking about how I wish Dreamworks trailers would have something that shows the heart of the film. I remember being skeptical about HTTYD before I saw it, and being in shock after I watched it. The trailer lead me to believe it was going to be something with little to no heart. I wasn’t expecting to care about Hiccup or Toothless at all.

I have a feeling in my gut that they’re going to over due the pop culture jokes. Hopefully they’ll makr it like HHTYD where it tries to tell a good story and doesn’t rely on those types of jokes. If it follows that formula, then it could be up there with some of DW’s best films like HHTYD and the first Shrek.

I don’t get the appeal in the first Shrek! I wasn’t until forty minutes into it that I felt like it was starting to get good.

I don’t know. I might have to rethink my decision on Shrek after rewatching it. It just seemed very boring and typical. I mean, a princess being rescued from a tower? Come on! I guess it was my opinion from when I last saw Shrek a couple years back.

In some way Tangled was the same thing. Anyone think Puss will do the face in this?

I don’t think I know he is going to do the face he might do it so much that we will get tired of seeing it.

Tangled is nothing like Shrek. It is a fairy tale-based comedy. However, plot wise and character wise, not even in the same ball park. Actually, I’m hurt that you would compare that movie to Shrek.

Anyway, I hate Shrek. We will likely rent this movie because my brother is obsessed with Puss, and Shrek is not in this movie.

This could possibly be one of Dreamworks’ better movies. The trailers didn’t really have any pop culture jokes and it has a decent story. This could be good or it could be a misfire.

Two new trailers! The first one is a spoof on the Old Spice commercials and had me in stitches:

And a new official trailer, which focuses more on the humor aspect than the epic adventure aspect. Good news: no pop culture gags so far! At least none that I can see.

And the “show him the golden eggs” had me cracking up and thinking “Wow, did they really just go there?” Further proof that animation is not a children’s medium.

Wow! A Dreamworks film that doesn’t have any pop-culture jokes? I know the film hasn’t come out yet but I’m excited to see a Dreamworks film that doesn’t use that for it’s humor.

I am suuuper excited for this movie, even not having seen any of the Shrek movies before. :'D

I think I’m excited because I feel like it’s going to follow the upward direction the last three DreamWorks films have taken. If they can make three great movies in a row, I’ve got faith they’ll make a fourth. (Note that I didn’t count the last Shrek movie, only cuz I didn’t see it.) The commercials alone for Puss in Boots are absolutely hilarious, and they’re not distasteful jokes, either - much like how the jokes in Megamind were.

When I saw the teaser for it, and they played that song by Pitbull in it, I was like ok that’s it. I’m going to see this movie (while laughing and drowning in my own tears).

yeah. I’m excited.

That trailer was hilarious! So many parts made me laugh. “No, that’s just a rumor spread around by dogs!”

I’m so excited for this movie. I love Antonio Banderas and Puss and Boots. Plus I’m happy to hear that Zach Galifinakis will be in it as well.

I’m definitely going to see this even thought I’m tired of anything related to Shrek.
