Greetings guys! PV here, and I haven’t posted since…checks profile…yikes, January. You must wonder what has happened to me since then.
Near the end of Winter, I became deeply depressed mainly because I was living so far away from my boyfriend, and he had moved to Los Angeles to share an apartment with his best friend. I decided to move out on my own and live with them.
On March 24 I flew to Burbank and was greeted by this banner:

Life in California was pretty scary at first and I grew homesick, but I persevered.
Within 10 days of my arrival I acquired a job at the GameStop located at Universal Studios Hollywood. Of course, I’m also pursuing a career in animation.
As you may imagine, Up advertisements are plastered everywhere. This banner hangs on the side of a building next to my bank:

Speaking of Pixar-related things, I recently attended the opening reception for The Ancient Book of Sex and Science by Scott Morse, Lou Romano, Don Shank, and Nate Wragg. You can read my blog post for more info about the book, and I posted photos of the event below.
The event was held at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, CA:

Viewing the pieces in person was a real treat. Certain textures were further appreciated, like on Scott Morse’s “Cheap Whore” for example:

I met all 4 featured artists and a few special guests, although I’m bummed I missed Peter Sohn and Ronnie del Carmen before they left. They couldn’t have been nicer guys. Despite the constant flow of fans, they took time to chat with everybody:

The line to meet Nate Wragg was very long, so we went to eat dinner while waiting for the crowd to die down:

…and eventually we met him:

In addition to the collection of autographs we got with our copy of S&S:

…Don Shank and Lou Romano signed my copy of The Art of The Incredibles:

…and Nate Wragg doodled Remy inside my Your Friend the Rat Little Golden Book!:

So yeah, that’s my story up to this point. My activity online has been extremely minimal, but I read Upcoming Pixar whenever I have a chance. I probably won’t be able to moderate the forum anymore, but I will try to report on special events here in California.
Props to the rest of the Pixar Planet staff who have been taking care of the site.
Later!
~~ PV
