In the beginning of 3, we see that Buzz has written Andy’s phone number inside his wrist communicator - i.e. after he peeled off the sticker in 1.
I was wondering why Buzz didn’t notice that when he was reverted back to factory settings in 3? -Omar

Well, he never looks directly into it. I mean, in reality, he’d probably notice. But I guess he didn’t just for the convenience of the story.
I kinda wondered that too, but maybe his mind was too far gone to notice. I never caught that he never looks directly at it but that must be a reason too. It would kinda stop the flow of the story for him to be wondering about what happened to the sticker. There wouldnt be time to solve that problem
Yeah, when we analyzed the screenshots a while ago, there was nothing there in that scene, only a screw in the plastic. He wouldn’t have wondered at that point, since he doesn’t really look at it either.
I guess his mind was too far gone? And even if the number had been there (but wasn’t, like Dinoco said), he might’ve just thought the numbers were some secret code or something. He did go back to being a crazy space ranger again, so he could’ve thought anything.
When Buzz was in demo mode, the only time he used the communicator he was busy running from Rex&Hamm, so he didn’t look at it. And he didn’t look at it in Spanish mode, so I think he just didn’t notice it.
But he does use it in Spanish Mode - when he first is put into Spanish Mode, he says, “Etacura Espacial–” and flips open his communicator and gives his schpeel about being crashed on a strange plenet, etc.
It doesn’t have to make sense; I was just asking -Omar
Now that I’ve checked, when he opens it, he looks right at it when he starts talking. He obviously didn’t think anything was up. I can’t find the clip where the normal deluded Buzz uses it, though. I’d expect the same reasoning.
Maybe they wiped it off afterward so Andy wouldn’t wonder why it was there. And again, mean Buzz never looks directly into his wrist.
I was under the impression that a younger andy wrote it there himself so if he lost buzz people could call the number, but I don’t think he would have had a cell phone when he was younger, so I guess that doesn’t make sense.
He definately wiped it off after that plan failed. Would raise a lot of questions, especially since Andy probably didn’t write it (though Reaper052 has a good theory).
I kind of thought the opposite: that Woody and the others got the phone number from the house and wrote it in Buzz’s wrist communicator to remember as part of their plan. If Woody was able to write the directions to Bonnie’s house, then I see no reason why that couldn’t have been the case.
Actually , in the first ts3 trailer , when spanish buzz opened his comunicator the sticker is there, so Pixar was probably wondering the same thing
Really? Do you you got pics of that?
