question

I used to be obsessed with the Incredibles…what two

years ago now? Now I’m not obsessed with any pixar movie (or any movie to be exact).

But are you still a fan of TI?

I prefer to call myself a really big fan of Pixar films

rather than one who “worships” them. And even though the Star Wars films

are my favourite movies of all time, and that pretty much everyone that I know can tell you that I’m a really,

really, really avid fan of Star Wars, I also do not “worship” the

Star Wars movies.

I’m a devout Catholic, you see, so I don’t think

“worship” is the right term to use. Although, I guess, you can say that worship and praise are pretty

much synonymous to each other. But the fact of the matter is, I got used to treating those two terms as having

different meanings. In other words, I attribute “worship” to God and “praise” to anything

(including God) that one adores. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with using the word

“worship” to describe someone or something whom or which you adore very much (In fact, just in case I

unintentionally created a misconception, Catholics are not forbidden to attribute

that word, in that context, to other things); but having gotten used to the aforementioned attributions, it makes

me feel somewhat uncomfortable using it in that context. Anyway, I probably shouldn’t touch upon this (slightly)

sensitive topic in these forums, but I just wanted to blurt all that out…

Star Wars, eh?
I have to

say its good especially the recent 3 films that were released between 1999-2005. But i am no person or commonly

named fan of it.

But as for the main thread sub, my home family does know i do love Finding Nemo so i

really dont have any choice but to go with the fact that they do know and once in awhile my ma-ma or sisters will

want to give me something of it, and my mother would probably give me anything of something that has the blue

fe-fish on it.

But my parents never have said that I worship Her, FN, or anything of it, of some

source.
They know that I only I have much interest in it, and love for my only blue

friend as I came to know, with nothing more.

Now that you have reminded me of something,

what did your friends/family think when they found out about your passion?

CountSolo - I agree with your second passage, but I’m

not going to go there. Heheh.

My parents are both animators, so they have been big Disney and Pixar fans

before I was even born – I just happened to catch the “bug” and become an avid animation-lover myself.

My whole family loves every single one of Pixar’s films, although…I’m the only one who is currently obsessed

with them, besides one of my sisters, that is.

I’ll tell anybody who will listen that I am a certified

Pixar fan, though.

Yeah, big Disney and Pixar fan here as well. I really want to work at both as an animator someday… As

far as obsessions go, I’m beyond an animation junkie. I’m fasinated by all forms of animation: stop-motion.

computer, hand drawn, etc. I absorb all the info I can about the great animators: Ward Kimball, Ollie Johnston,

Ray Harryhausen, etc.
