Quoting

I have another pet peeve

that deals with posting on here.

So many members are quoting in layers which is unnecessary and sometimes

takes up a lot of room on a page. I’m talking about when it looks like

this:

ijroqxqoiexqoerxoqpxjqoiejrxioqexgjoqexgo

erqjoxijqexghiqmgiuqrehxgireqighqexhiuqehxi
[/quote]

[color=indigo

]It’s okay to quote somebody, but there’s no need to quote a member’s entire post and then say, "Yeah, I

feel the same way". You can carry out the thread by posting regularly and then once in a while including a

quote. Other members can read the post before yours to comprehend it.

Sorry. When something really bugs

me, I have to get it off my chest. I’m not mad at you guys.

Coincidently I

just erased some1’s quoting my previous post while I’m quoting them on my new post…

What would you consider limit PV?

I am just wondering so I won’t go that far next time.

Sometimes, I find it difficult when quoting someone who has already quoted someone else, as finding the part

that they have been quoting and deleting it can get a bit confusing. I agree, though- quoting unecessarily can be

pretty annoying.

I’m echoing PV here: please snip anything that you’re not quoting. It’s just common

internet courtesy.

I usually try to limit myself when quoting long

sentences from other people. I don’t like to look at a big huge box of quotes myself. As a matter of fact, it

peeves me off, too. I will still attempt to limit myself though, in any case. Thanks for the "heads

up", PV.

KyrieEleison: I do that, as well. It saves the writer

and the reader more time to scan the article/post; plus, it’s fun to edit. Other

times, when I don’t feel like quoting, I’ll just do what I did now: Type in the quoter’s name in

bold and respond to his/her message after the colon.

Hey, that

is pretty clever.

The Star Swordsman: Haha – well, thank you!

To be honest, I like your method,

Mitch. ^^

In regards to TSS’s question about a quoting limit, I say that once is enough, but twice is

okay when needed.

But you see the last post he made? There’s no need to repeat the very last thing that

someone has said. :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I’ll go with Mitch’s method.

I only quote

some1’s speech when it’s necessarily & respond to 'em underneath their quote. That way people will know

who/what I’m talking about.

Wow – I think I started a trend! Many thanks for appreciating my

unique…umm…“method”.

Yeah on my other forums, the PM convo’s end up

looking like that x1000000000 because of constant replying (and it then quotes)

Well, the whole putting people’s names in bold and then replying them idea is working pretty well.

Wow Mitch, (bows to her) I thank thee for starting

such a trend.

Yeah I noticed that started, respect for the person who thought it up is required.

I’m all for Mitch’s way too now that I compare them. I

cant believe I’ve never really seen that before! At least, not on such a regular basis. Most people just quote

on the other forums i’m at…

My gosh, I feel like a queen or something. :stuck_out_tongue:

lizardgirl - Heheh – it is, isn’t it? Thank you, Ma’am.

The Star Swordsman - Thy welcomest thee. Thy ist honored.

luxo - Oh goodness, I don’t deserve respect for that. Although, now that

you mentioned it… Heheh – thanks.

lennonluvr9 - I know – I used to

quote alot, too. All the other forum boards that I used to go on all had quoting as

their main thing. However, I finally got sick of it and went to bold.

Heheh – thank you for liking my idea. Thank you, all.

You are

welcome. I guess it was cool that you found this forum. By the way, what other trends could be started here at

Pixar Planet?

A forum where everyone gets on. Haven’t been on one of those before. :sunglasses:
