Does anybody remember this movie? I just saw the trailer for the updated version starring the Rock and I have to say, I’m impressed! I like the updated twist they’ve added to it.
You can check out the trailer on the Facebook page - easiest way to get all the updates
I’m actually looking forward to it - I liked the first film, the second was horrible, but this … well, it’s a new start, and I hope it’s worthwhile. It really looks interesting, and what’s more AnnaSophia Robb is in it!
As some of you would know by now, I’m a huge fan of car chases, so this naturally piqued my interest. It’s like they took the Bourne Supremacy’s taxi chase and stuck it in the desert! The crash reminded me of Fantastic Four and Hancock’s head-on collision.
Love the poster… reminds me of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Seems like Mr Johnson is a Disney action-hero staple now. There was one interview where he gives the reason why his character has an obligation to protect his customers; cab drivers are contractually bound to take their passengers to their intended destination, so in a sense, it’s his character’s job to get his fares there by any means possible!
That’s an interesting tidbit! That’s kind of a cool spin on the story
I quite like the Rock…er, Dwayne Johnson. He obviously does really well doing the action thing (The Rundown, etc) but he seems to be moving into the comedy/kid-friendly genre too (such as The Game Plan, which I really liked. It has my favorite quote, lol!) I like him when he’s not so serious so I’m pretty excited to see him in another Disney action flick!
I saw the trailer in 3-D when going to see Bolt. It looks interesting. I’ve never seen any of the others though. I might go see it if it gets good reviews.
Definitely got my attention! I watched its trailer over and over again. Man, those kids seem to have powers galore! They’re like wizards and super-smart secret agents and powerful supers in one. Awesome.
I’m lookin’ foward to this one.
“#1 on the field, #1 in your hearts” Cheesy, yes but I loved his delivery. I don’t think D.Johnson gets much credit for his acting, but I think he’s especially good in his comedic-type roles. He has pretty good timing. There’s a BTS with him and the director on Disney’s website and he seems like a cool, funny guy in general…
Okay, since my love of The Rock has now been revealed, I’ll just move on and also agree w/ Rac_Rules and FONY that AnnaSophia Robb is a great up-and-coming actress. She brought me to tears in Bridge to Terabithia. Looks like the movie has a pretty good cast all-around.
For any of you guys stateside, I found this cool new contest on YouTube. You just have to answer a couple of questions after watching a video and you could win a trip to Las Vegas! I don’t know about you guys, but I LOVE the Vegas so I’m for sure entering!
I’ll probably watch this only because I love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. He was one of my favorite wrestlers and now is one of the most enjoyable people on the silver screen.
Thought I’d revive this thread because the movie comes out this weekend here in America and after all the clips I’ve been watching, really looking forward to it!
Plus it got pretty good reviews from both the Hollywood Reporter & Variety. Check it out:
The commercial annoyed me. Its one of the new ones I saw on TV. The song they used is ‘stuff is messed up’ by Offspring, which is filled with cursing and other dark lyrics, just doesn’t seem right with the movie. Plus Offspring is one of my favorite bands, and them and the Rock shouldn’t go together.
My brother is going to go see it, he’ll tell me if its worth a peak.
Did you guys know it was a book adaption? Well, technically, a remake of a book adaption.
I was in the library yesterday and I came across an ad for this film and I’m like “What? They’re advertising movies where they should be advertising books?” Then I saw that they labeled it “based on the novel Escape to Witch Mountain” on the bottom. I guess since the popularity of the movie is hyped, they have to seize this moment to encourage people to read the book. I gotta find the book.
