These are the chef’s hat and apron Circuit City handed out with the DVDs this morning.

Thank you! I’d been fruitlessly looking for info on Circuit City’s hat & apron on various forums. They look pretty nice. How big are they? Child size, adult size?
I checked out three places. I was disappointed in Kmart’s jar. It was smaller than I was expecting, maybe about four inches tall, plastic, with the Remy image on the side of the jar. Also, Kmart’s price was $19.99, so I passed and bought at Target and Toys R Us (both $15.99). I haven’t opened the Target DVD yet, but the cookbook is nice, easy to read hardcover with pretty pictures.
I really like Future Shop’s classy steelbook, but not for $40 to $65 shipped through eBay.
You’re welcome, Conri, for the info and to Pixar Planet! ![]()
The apron is approximately 23" long and 15" wide. At a glance, it appears to be child size, but it fits me. Heheh.
I wish I had known about the jar. My Kmart is crummy, so the thought never entered my mind to check there.

Yeah, the jar is pretty cute, but there were too many different offers out there.
I’m fairly small myself, so it sounds like that apron might almost fit me. Almost.
Thank you for the welcome.
I just picked up the DVD from Target. I haven’t watched the bonus disc yet, but I skimmed through the features. For those wondering, here’s a complete list of what’s included:
All in all there’s only around 25 minutes of features, but they all look great! The featurettes and Deleted Scene were created by the folks at Pixar and are of equal quality as the stuff that actually made it onto Ratatouille’s DVD. And although the podcasts and US Trailers aren’t on the Bonus DVD, the international promos are fantastic! Also, Target is including this Bonus Disc in every single copy of Ratatouille available in their store, and for this week both discs are selling for $15.99! It’s a great deal!
I just picked up the US version of Ratatouille at Target with the Bonus disc and was going to post what’s included, but I see someone already beat me to it. I will point out that the Target ads say “Includes exclusive bonus DVD with 60 minutes of never before seen content featuring behind-the-scenes footage, character profiles, and more.” (just look at the scan a few posts up before this one). Well that “60 minutes” is really “21 minutes”. Unless there’s a hidden easter egg, they only delivered 1/3rd of what they promised. Right on the back of the Bonus DVD pocket it says “Time: Approx 21 Minutes.”
What little is there is appriciated of course, but if there was ever a case of false advertising (intentional or not) this is it, as you can’t see the back of the bonus disc without opening up the package first (ie, buying it).
Such a good movie, treated so poorly by Disney.
I’ve decided to take a cue from others on the board, and have ordered the import Japanese DVD of it, as well as a friend picking up the Canadian version (nothing extra there except a nice Steelcase book) as well. The Japanese version has a few (not a lot) extras not included on the US release.
I suppose these Target extras are better than nothing (or a “cooking” disc at WalMart) but if the ad had said what it was (“21 minutes of additional footage”) instead of “60 minutes of never-before-seen content” I might not be so disappointed…
Still a great movie, and nothing can take that away.
FOR ANYONE WHO HAS BOUGHT THE BLU-RAY VERSION: Can you please post what extras are included on it? Most specifically, if the short documentary made by Michael Giacchino’s son (behind the scenes with the music) is included? When I saw that short at a private screening, it was mentioned that it would be included on the Blu-Ray version, but there was no mention of it in any press releases, and I don’t have a Blu-Ray player. Also, any running commentary on the Blu-Ray? Or will we have to wait for DIsney to release a 2-disc set 10 years from now…
I’m thinking when they said “60 minutes of never before seen material” they included both disks…
FigmentJedi,
No, it’s pretty clear when it says “Exclusive Bonus DVD with 60 minutes of never before seen content” they’re talking about the Exclusive Bonus DVD, not a combination of minutes between the two…
Oh, man. There are tons of cool offers for Ratatouille in the US… We’ll be lucky if we get a couple of special gifts. I’m loving the simple design of the apron and chef’s hat. Thanks for the pics. The material is a lot better quality than with the chef’s hat I got at the cinema. Hmm.
If anyone gets the jar at K-Mart, take a photo please? ![]()
I don’t know the exact dimensions or even the relative dimensions to the DVD. From Kmart’s website.
I’m so MAD at the Disney Store…I had Ratatouille pre-ordered and everything, and so I went to pick it up today after my last class (in college), and they were all “Oh, we’re out of the lithographs…” UGH…
So, it’s basically just a glass jar with a Remy sticker on it? Big whoop. Thanks for the picture, though. ![]()
I Heart Remy - That would stink.
OMG, tell him that I think he’s awesome. ![]()
Do you guys know how hard I looked for a chef’s hat of ANY kind to use in my pumpkin display? And now Circuit City’s just giving them out?? Lol, I’d love to have that and the apron.
And its not right that someone pre-ordered the Disney Store DVD but couldn’t get the lithographs… ![]()
You didn’t get it beforehand? I got them when I pre-ordered it.
I still didn’t get the DVD yet … ![]()

How close to the release of the DVD was when you pre-ordered it? For Peter Pan, I learned the hard way to do it early before a supply of lithographs is gone.

Interesting. I’m glad that some extra bonus features are at least accessable in some format, but the only thing that ticks me off about this is that you have to pay extra money for content that could have all been packed in one bag. You’ve got a choice, dudes:
Pre-order the DVD from the Disney Store and get a set of four lithographs plus the DVD; no extra bonus disc is included.
Purchase the DVD at Target that includes a bonus disc with extra features that are not found on the regular old Ratatouille disc; no lithographs are included, however.
Purchase the DVD at Toys R’ Us and get a free cookbook along with the DVD; no extra bonus disc or lithographs are included.
Buy the dang DVD at WalMart and get an Emeril Live disc; no lithographs are included.
Etc., etc., etc…
I swear, this sucks like cheese on a volcanicly-covered moon on a hot day, and that doesn’t even begin to describe my anger. But will I buy the WalMart and Target versions anyway? Of course I will, because Disney knows that there are those few fans and hopeless geeks out there who have…no life. Eitther that or they’re just obsessed, which I most certainly am not. ![]()
I Heart Remy - You’ve gotta be kidding me. That sucks, dude. And they didn’t give you the lithographs on the spot when you pre-ordered the DVD? That’s odd. Maybe only certain Disney Stores do that… Huh…
That’s freakin’ awesome in itself. How the heck do you get the chance to meet Alton Brown?! Get me an autograph, will ya’?
(snigger)
Have fun meeting the dude, PV. ![]()

WHAT??
This really sucks …
Are you absolutely sure??!
I was sure I was getting the two-disc …
I hate being ripped off. =P My life is really horrible lately, and now this … x_x
Heheh. Alton is coming to Cleveland for the Fabulous Food Show, which is almost a 2-hour drive from home.
~~=oP
FONY - I’m seriously sure of it. It sucks like yesterday’s newspapers wrapped in pizza-covered hamburger sauce, but that’s the sole truth, and it sure isn’t pretty…
Yep. If you pre-order the Ratatouille DVD from the Disney Store, the most you get are these “features”, if you can call them that:
Only 1 disc is included, so you’re gonna have to like what you get. It kinda sucks… No, it really sucks. On the plus side, something is better than nothing!

PV - Ahh. I see. How interesting. Well, I wish you a fun time at the event! ![]()

Mitch: Gahh!! That really sucks. And just when I thought my life couldn’t get any worse …
Costco’s bound to have one with Disney pins in it, but that’s the same price of what I just bought! x__x
Life stinks.
And they didn’t even mention it on the ad or the little card I got!!
I hate you, Disney. xP
