Let’s just hope that Disney don’t muck up the cover for Ratatouille like they did with Cars.
Looks like a very clever mockup to me. Linguini, Colette, Remy and Emile weren’t photoshopped very well I think onto the disc. And there are also a few little other things that don’t seem to make it authentic. Still good though.
Heh. Amen to that. I never did like the DVD cover for Cars, which is rather disappointing (in my opinion). Hopefully, the Ratatouille DVD cover will be a tad more adequate and flavorful. Truth be told, though, I really don’t care. As long as I actually have a nice, clean, well-constructed compilation/DVD of the film itself, I’ll be happy.
Gasduude Yeah, I agree! Hopefully, there will be tons of easter eggs to hunt for should the DVD itself be devoid of an adequate amount of bonus features. prays for an overflow of special features
I’m pretty certain that the cover art posted is a fan made. But I have a strong feeling that we’re gonna get some nice extras on the DVD/ Blu-ray. I remember seeing an interview where Michael Giacchino confirmed that his ten year old son made a short documentary about the scoring of the film which would be included on the DVD. Don’t know what else there will be, probably the usual documentaries, commentaries, trailers, podcasts, plus Lifted, which is probably my favourite Pixar short. Can’t wait to get it (my sources tell me that the date is in fact November 6).
Mister Incredible - Well, I sure hope that those afore-mentioned bonus features are included in the DVD. The interview/documentary by Michael Giacchino’s son sounds interesting; I’d love to see that.
What I really want, however, is a commentary. I used to hate those things, but listening to a couple sparked my interest in them. Due to a lack of a commentary (or two) in Cars, I’m really hungry for a Ratatouille one…
A three-disc? Come on, it’s not Lord of the Rings, here. I would love a three-disc though. I could watch Pixar extras for hours. I can’t wait to see Michael Giacchino’s son’s making-of. I wonder what special promotions there will be for the DVD - like, buy the DVD and get a free whatever.
This is awesome because being an incredible cars freak I was dissapionted about the dvd maybe some day they’ll make a better one (i hope!!!) So anyways i can’t wait!
Well I am expecting a 2 Disc Ratatouille DVD before Christmas, 1 Disc Blu-Ray Version, as well as 2 Disc Pixar Shorts DVD as well as 1 Disc Blu-Ray version.
Pixar shorts in HD mmmmm, sounds good
Speaking of Blu-Ray, lately blu-ray/hd dvd releases of films don’t have as many features as their dvd counterparts. Do you think we may see the same features as the dvd plus blu-ray specific features on the Ratatouille blu-ray release?
One feature I think would be cool and is possible is you remember that progression reel for Ratatatouille? With that you can switch between storyboards, layout, animation, lighting/shading for that scene. What would be even cooler is that for the whole movie. Watching Ratatouille in storyboards might be fun.
Another cool feature would be using watching Ratatouille with the temp voices by Pixar artists. I’m hoping there is a commentary and I hope they get Jan Pinkava in with them to do the commentary. I’m guessing in the commentary we will have Brad Bird, Brad Lewis, Mark Andrews and hopefully Jan Pinkava.
I will be really interseted to see if Jan is included in the comentary since Brad changed so much of what he did. It could be quite groundbreaking, some of what we hear, if we get to be privy to the discussions of those two. It will also be a chapter I’m highly looking forward to in the book “To Infinity and Beyond.”
