Well what you would need is a blu-ray reader in your computer, you would then need to rip that audio stream from the disc, then place the Ratatouille normal DVD version in your computer, rip the entire image off the disc, re-author the DVD adding in the audio stream from the blu-ray version, save the image and burn! The audio commentary should now be apart of the regular DVD version as would be a 5.1 surround sound channel or a stereo DTS channel etc.
It’s all entirely possible, it’s just you need a blu-ray reader in your computer and a copy of Ratatouille on blu-ray. I suppose you could get a techie friend with a blu-ray drive to buy Ratatouille and give you a copy of the audio stream.
bawpcwpn - Yep. That’s what I was thinking of doing, and it’s all pretty easy to do except… I don’t have a BluRay drive. I was thinking of waiting until after November 7 and seeing if I could get the commentary/audio stream from “other sources” on the Internet.
Yeah, it’s just the normal single (sigh of disappointment) inside, just with a nice steelbook packaging. Too bad I can’t get it since I’m fully committed to buying this on Blu-ray.
I am still waiting to see what the region 3 DVD offers…when it comes out I’m not sure. But my local HMV store does import region 1 DVDs so possibly I might get the region 1 disc first.
Mitch Yeah the Japanese region 2 DVD special edition rocks!! But could be quite pricy to import it.
BTW, if all of you so disappointed by Ratatouille DVD, why you still buy that DVD ? for me to watch Ratattouile film, I just download Ratatouille DVDRip from torrent and voila, I got DVD quality in no price, for the short film just search it in google, and you’ll get it too
Oh, I wish. But hey, deleted scenes! And a short! I hate to prove Disney/Pixar right by buying their DVDs even when they skimp on extra stuff, but how can I not?
I would’ve at least liked some production stuff or behind-the-scenes stuff or more about the characters. Grrrr.
