Ok, I’ll try not to make it on Easter Sunday for those in the US then.
Well, usually I wouldn’t be able to record on Easter Sunday, but because my mum’s going away she won’t be able to tell me not to record on such an important religious day, even though I’m not religious anyway. “Oh Rachel! Can’t you stay off the computer for one day of the year?!” So sans Easter Sunday lunchtime onwards (and maybe Saturday mid-morning onwards, too, but I really hope not) I should be free that whole long weekend. In Australia, well, my state anyway, Friday, Saturday and Monday are considered public holidays. ^^
thedriveintheatre - Yeah, I’m the same. I was talking with my sister about this and young people (in their teens and twenties) have no problem in letting their friends know pretty much at the last minute their social arrangements, which I consider quite rude. I think it’s all to do with SMSs and the convenience of organising things at such late notice. But maybe I’m old-fashioned that way. shrug
Yeah, I’m going to try to take into account who hasn’t yet done a commentary with certain people (as well as the schedules) so we can have a chance to commentate with someone different at least. But overall it doesn’t really bother me who I commentate with, 'cause you’re all so cool. =)
Here are the two groups for the Ratatouille commentary:
Group 1: thedriveintheatre
Lightning Eclipse
The Star Swordsman
Group 2: qxgnxamy
rachelcakes1985
Mitch
Please get the NTSC file from either Peter (qxgnxamy) or I over Skype or obtain it some other way, if you don’t have it already. If any of you don’t think you’ll be able to make it to a session (if something suddenly came up) please let me know ASAP then I can just combine the groups and we can have one group of 5 commentators instead. Thanks.
Within the next 24 hours I’ll post possible times for Group 1. That session will probably be recorded this weekend.

FYI - daylight savings finishes at 3am Sunday in Australia.
Well, that’s five different times for this week. Hopefully one of these will suit you guys. You might notice that two of those times are on the same day except 3 hours forward, just in case that forward time is more suitable. These commentaries usually take about 3 hours, so if you wanted to start at any time between the first and second proposed times (that are on the same date), I think that’s possible, according to your schedules. It’s up to you guys, really. If it is, let us know anyway, for flexibility reasons.
So thedriveintheatre, Lightning Eclipse and The Star Swordsman: please let me and your fellow commentators know ASAP which of the above times would be suitable. Thanks.
You know, I never really understood the concept of daylight savings. Probably cos’ I’m from the Equator where we have virtually no seasons (hot all year round). Thanks for the reminder, Rachel.
Looking forward to commentating with all of y’all. ^^ I’ll probably watch the movie again today, then do some research to brush up on my Ratatouille knowledge. XP
If you could start and hour or two earlier for the first time preference, let me know - that would be possible for me, so two of you don’t have to stay up till midnight, and so qxgnxamy doesn’t have to stay up so late either, who will be recording as a backup.
To all: I have been excused from jury duty, thank goodness! That won’t be a hardship now.
To everyone who will be participating in the first Ratatouille commentary: Have fun you guys! I look forward to listening to the end result.
No problem, and will do. It sounds as if the group that I’m in will be commentating on the film on Easter Sunday. This works out fine with me, as I never work on a Sunday, although if I did participate in a commentary on that day it would have to be late my time, because my family stays up at all hours on the weekends. I’d say that the best time for me to join in on a session on Easter Sunday would be anytime past 9:00 PM Pacific Time. I hope that this wouldn’t conflict with anyone else’s schedule…
Rachel: quite possibly my parents might want to take the whole family out for dinner this friday, so it might not be a big possibility on Friday. Could we switch it to Saturday as my top priority?
To everyone in Group 1: Make sure you watch Rataouille and take down some notes before we start the commentary. Make sure that you have something to say even though everyone feels lost.
Mitch - Anytime past 9:00 PM Pacific Time will be after midnight for me, but that could be a good thing. If everyone else in my household is asleep there’s less of a chance that someone will knock on my door while we’re recording.
qxgnxamy - Mmm. Yes, that’s what I was worried about: the extreme time differences. Still, if it would work in your favor then I guess it would be all right. I’d feel bad about having to keep anyone up past midnight, though…
qxgnxamy - All right. Since it’s fine with you then it’s fine by me. I’m a night owl, so I don’t mind staying up late either. Hopefully, this time set fares well for Rachel…
If all of those are ok with you guys, then we can just start with the earliest time. Let me know. Any of the above should be fine by me. Just be aware if it doesn’t get done on that day, the Group 1 commentary would have to be postponed till next weekend since the weekdays are no good for you guys (they don’t match up).
Mitch - 9pm pacific time would be fine for me over Easter weekend. I’ll let you know with the next couple of days the hours we could do the commentary for Group 2.
Saturday at 4:00pm sounds good to me. =) For me, the earlier in the evening we start, the better, since I tend to fizzle out really late at night. (Although if later in the evening for me works better for other people, I don’t mind.)
