Ratatouille in MAD magazine

For any of those who read MAD magazine at all you may already know this. But I’m one of those “shmucks” (to quote MAD) that reads it regularly and the new issue I got in the mail this week has a bit on Ratatouille (which I’ve been waiting for. there’s been almost nothing about it yet this summer) which i found freaking hilarious called “A MAD look at Ratatouille”. So anyone who wants to look, it’s probably out in stores now. And to those who dont like people poking fun at Pixar (although I loved what they did with Cars last year) dont worry, they really dont with this. too much.

Lol, MAD magasine actually exists? I thought it was something invented by the people who make The SImpsons!

That sounds pretty cool though, lennonluvr. I wish I could get hold of a copy!

Oh yes, MAD Magazine does truly exist. There’s even a pic of Remy on the site main page
MAD

Haha. How cool! My dad buys a copy of MAD magazine every once in a while, so perhaps he’ll get the one with the Ratatouille article…

Thanks for the information!

lizardgirl - Oh yeah, it’s really big here in the U.S.! Check it out:

Thanks for the links, guys! MAD Magazine looks awesome!

I’ll get it since my brother has a subscription. I hope it’s not offensive but funny, like the Cars spoof.

Thanks for the info, lennonluvr9! I nabbed a copy tonight after work.

These 3 gags are my favorite:

[spoil]Remy’s cookbook is ultimately ruined in the sewers. When you really think about it, all that gushing water would’ve caused damage to it. The pages weren’t even warped.[/spoil]

[spoil]Remy fixes Linguini’s soup without knowing its purpose is for Skinner to soak his feet.[/spoil] 8D

[spoil]Remy assists Linguini when nature calls. Talk about being toilet-trained![/spoil]

PV - Puh-ha! Thanks for posting up the spoilers. Now I’ve gotta get this magazine! :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for this! I might just get the magazine to add to my Ratatouille collection. I don’t care if they are making fun of it. BTW, is this Mad Kids or just Mad Magazine you are talking about?

The Ratatouille gags are featured in the October 2007 issue (#482) of MAD. The Geico caveman is on the cover:

My brother’s subscription finally came in the mail, and I saw the comics. They’re funny- I remember similar ones came out with the Incredibles. I like them because they’re not really making fun of it, just making silly gags on it, and it’s not offensive at all.

Exactly. You can tell a fan made those.

Actually, [spoil] what I loved about the movie was that the pages DO look warped, if you look closely when Remy is turning them. I remember thinking - as someone who reads in the bathroom nad has seen a lot of water-damaged books in my time - “How the heck do they get the texture and weight of a water-stiffened page just right?!!”[/spoil]

For some reason, I haven’t been receiving email alerts from here, but I’m glad to find out the site hasn’t closed down! Will be back!

Does anyone have scans of this?

I need them. For, uh… for science.

(Oh, and feel free to delete this of that counts as asking for pirated stuff or whatever. I have never heard of this applying to magazine scans, but you never know. I guess.)

Would love to see scans of this too! In fact, scans of ANY Ratatouille comics, official or not, to satisfy my Ratatouille cravings!!!

Those Disney Adventures issues had some Ratatouille comics in them. I assume they’ve stopped running them by now (even without that the-magazine-is-ending thing).

it’s unofficially in this month’s too. I say unofficial because it’s not really about Ratatouille. Anyway, the last page is always a MAD fold in (where there’s a picture and you fold the page so the center disapears and there’s a new image). The Fold In this month shows all the chefs from Ratatouille in the kitchen. it was actually making a joke about tv cook/talk show host Rachael Ray (which is what you see when you fold the page in) It was funny, except I didnt like how the artist drew Colette, although everyone else looks fine.
