The Star Swordsman - Heheh
– it’s called the “squash and stretch” technique in animation. When a character’s body
lengthens…he will appear to look longer and skinnier whilst still maintaining his basic body shape. The same
goes for when he curles up into a ball or squats down on his legs/hindquarters: he appears to be chubbier and
bunched up.
Basic animation technique.
Mitch - Yep! And if I remember correctly, there going to try to
use alot of it in this film…
I know that. They used
this same technique for Elastigirl in the Incredibles. I still love how they maintained his cuteness no matter
the size.

Thanks for capturing all of these Zack. They all look so cool. I like the ones with
the human characters in them.

Gasduude - Oh yeah, they’re going to be using it non-stop in the film. They have
to in every one of their productions – it’s a basic “requirement”…in a way.
The Star Swordsman - Ahh…I see. My apologies. I thought that you didn’t
know…
Zack - Nice screen shots! Remy’s dad has such a cool design. And
as for that fourth picture: well, that’s a rat all over. Despite the fluffly cuteness…their claws really hurt
on your skin. (snigger)

One moment, I shall go back and edit that last post,
adding larger versions of the framegrabs and a few new ones as well.

Awesome. I actually used the first
picture for my computer’s desktop…until my sister changed it.
Nice screenshots,
Zack!
Click on
this screenshot and look to the Chef on the very left. Do you noticed that that Chef did
not appear in the trailer but that one time. Weird huh?

JV -
Seriously? 'Cause I could have sworn I saw him in the trailer. That is weird… I’ll have to look at the
trailer again.
I first thought that it was the Chef on the far right but it not even close to looking like
him.

Ohh…I see what you mean now. Heh. Well,
they can’t fit everybody into more than two shots, now can they? Perhaps that particular chef isn’t a very
important character in the story – more like a backround character, maybe? Actually, looking at him again he
sort of looks like he could be Rick Dicker’s brother or…something. Maybe it’s just me?

Heh – I love that look on Remy’s face when I sees Colette flame up the pan like a
fireball. I bet he didn’t see that coming… (snigger)

How
they did his fur reacting to the heat of the fire is what’s amazing to me.
Mitch

Bill - Agreed. I really don’t get how that did that – it’s completely
eye-catching and incredibly well done. They have achieved that “sicky, firm” look of the fur that
makes it all the more believeable.

How they even did the fire, amazed me! I bet they never even imagined of
doing something like that when Pixar were making Toy
Story.

Look at the size of that forehead!
Well, just like in the Incredibles, everyone is a little significantly
different. I mean, there is a huge difference between the forehead guy with the black guy’s head.
