Ratatouille Soundtrack!

How many of you are going to get the Ratatouille Soundtrack CD? I know I

will.

amazon.com/Pixars-Ratatouill … ie=UTF8&s=

music&qid=1172929511&sr=8-2

The release date that Amazon.com gives us is June 26, 2007; I

predicted that date earlier last year and I was right!

Yep, I’ll probably get this CD!

Thanks for the info,

JV!

Oh yes – I will most definitely get this CD before the official film is released! I

always enjoy listening to movie soundtracks before-hand; that way, I can guess what the film will be like by

listening to the score.

Thanks for the information, JV!

Gasduude & Mitch - Your welcome guys!

JV - By the way, how do

you find this stuff before me? I mean, I look at all the Ratatouille websites I know

of in the morning, and you still beat me! What’s your secret? :stuck_out_tongue:  (snigger)

Well you live

in California and I live in Texas so there?s a time difference, so that?s probably how I beat you to it.

JV - Haha – yeah, I figured that might be the

case. (snigger) Oh well, congratulations to you then!

When I get the soundtrack, I’ll have to resist

looking at the song titles (which will probably be impossible for me), as they may very well tell alot about the

film before I see it…including the ending. And the music itself will most likely give away plenty of hints, but

what the heck.

I might, but I will need

to hear the song selection first.

The Star Swordsman - It’s

Michael Giacchino’s work. Do you doubt its excellence? (snigger) :stuck_out_tongue:

Note

 • I just remembered why I always think of jazz music when I hear the word “Paris”!

I used to

watch this film called Gay Purr-ee all the time, and it had kind of a

“jazzy” flavor to it in certain parts.

There was another reason too, but I forgot what it was.

Sorry if that wasn’t really relevant to our topic of discussion, but it does have to deal with music…sooo…

(snigger)

I don’t. He will blow me away.

But there is some stuff that I prefer. For instance, I love his score for the Incredibles, but I some how loved

other songs more than stuff by him, let’s say the One Man Band score.

I’ve never been this into a movie before, so I’ve never had the chance to do

this…

I think it’ll be fun to listen to the songs

before the movie comes out. I think it’ll make the

movie even better, somehow, when we do see it. Every one could say which songs they like best, and guess at which

point each song is at in the movie. :stuck_out_tongue:

Mitch – Why do you care about

reading the song titles? I mean, you readevery spoiler out there, right?

The Star Swordsman - Ah

– I see your point now.

Gasduude - Haha – yeah, I pretty much try to

discover every spoiler out there; however, there may also be hidden “meanings” and “messages”

covered beneath the bedcovers of the cd as well: tidbits that may not have been previously revealed/hinted at.

For example, say that it is June 26th and we know quite a bit about the film –

Ratatouille – already…with the exception of the ending. Since the soundtrack will

more than likely list the title of each song/score, the very last (or next to last) song may have a title that is

something like “Remy’s Redemption” or “Emile’s Return” or whatever. That gives the ending

away right there!

With the soundtrack in my clutches in June, I will (hopefully) know the whole film by

heart before it even hits the theaters! :stuck_out_tongue:

I know one thing for sure: Michael

Giacchino never fails to please. His scores on The Incredibles and Mission: Impossible 3 are some of the best

scores. A lot of people say he was snubbed the Oscar nomination for score because he wasn’t a well-known

composer at the time. There is always a jazz flavor to the music, but it sounds like a movie score at the same

time.

When I saw the 12 minute clip of Ratatouille at Wondercon, I’d have to say I was very engaged to

the music. There’s one scene that is so perfect, I could almost cry. Music, visuals, and story just fit

together.

Thank you for your Pixar news, JV. Keep up the good work!

Well, Pixar’s soundtracks always come out the Tuesday before the movie,

so if you wait three days to buy it you’ll have nothing to worry about. I never buy soundtracks to a movie

before seeing the movie for the very reason of spoiling something, but I always buy Pixar soundtracks the next

day.

The thing about the soundtracks that is different from the movie is the movie gives you the

whole soundtrack, plus more. For this one, it only gives you a few certain selected songs.

TheIncredible - Now that’s

exactly what I wanted to hear: that the film has a good, solid score which touches

your heart but makes you bounce in your seat at the same time. Of course, I never doubted him for a second, but

still…it’s nice to hear it by word-of-mouth. Thanks for the information!

Shark

Bait - Haha – well, you see, I’m one of those rare folks who likes to know every single spoiler

of a movie before it comes out. My parents say I’m crazy, but hey. :stuck_out_tongue:

I hate to be a stricter, but when the music on a film is orchestral it’s not called a song.

A song indicates that it has lyrics and words. An orchestral film score does not have lyrics, they might have a

choir, but thats not the same thing as having lyrics.

A more accurate way to call them would be music

cues or simply cues. Another way to call them would be tracks.

Again I hate to anoying here, sorry if I

was.

Ronald C

Thanks

SPACEHERO55, I’ve actually always wondered about that!

And don’t worry

about being a “sticker”, that’s perfectly fine of you to clear that up! :stuck_out_tongue:

Again

thanks…
