rachel - Name one Ratatouille item I don’t have. Oh, wait. You can. Nevermind. (snigger)
My mom would probably agree with you on some level, seeing as I showed her the pictures featured within the calendar and she complained that the particular screencaps taken are not very “calendar-worthy”. After glancing at them a second time, I have to agree with her. Some of the shots chosen are cute, but others just seem a little…odd and “in-your-face”, if you get my meaning. Heh.
Ha! You were born in July, too? Cool! We both get the same cute Remy picture.
Mitch - Oh good, so it’s not just me and my critical eye when it comes to anything Ratatouille, then.
Yeah, some of the pictures in the calendar are nice, but others seem a bit out of place and not very picturesque, as if they were done inbetween action frames. I don’t know. I would have also liked to have seen pictures of the other characters like Emile, and Gusteau.
Yeppity-yeppity-yep!
Oh gosh. Let me think… Do you have the Ratatouille folding beach/lounge chair? (It was the most random thing that I could think of).
rachel - My thoughts exactly. I know that Remy and Linguini are the main entities in the film, but there is such a thing as too many mug pictures. The images themselves probably could have been rendered in a more intriguing and eye-catching format, as well, instead of just a plain and simple frame. Figures that the Ratatouille calendar would be the one to receive a less-than-worthy unveling.
Man, I don’t have that. writes it down on Christmas list
Yeah, those two are really neat! I’m guessing that Emile is the pepper. Heh.
I’ve got a salt and pepper shaker, but it’s totally different to that one. Mine is ceramic, and shaped like a toque cut in half - one half for the pepper and one half for salt. It’s probably one of my favourite pieces of Ratatouille merchandise…
I haven’t got a Disney store very close by, but I want to get the 14" plush Remy I’ve seen on eBay, Though I would be willing to make the drive as long as it wasn’t super expensive. I didn’t see it on the website, does anyone know what these sell for at the Disney store?
rachel - You know what? I take it back: All of you Australians are getting a good majority of the cool Ratatouille merchandise, or did you just discover those via Ebay or a similar website?) We gotta trade places, man.
putmoneyinthypurse - You couldn’t possibly understand… (snigger)
Heheh. I’m just kidding, dude. Still, I wouldn’t mind taking a trip to Australia one of these days so as to browse the Ratatouille merchandise along with the scenery.
rachel - Ahh – I see. My mistake. Well, perhaps I’ll shell out some dough and add a few diamonds to my treasure trove. Then again, I’ve never shopped on Ebay and probably never will anytime soon. (snigger)
Mitch - As a fellow Ratatouille collector, I would highly recommend signing up to eBay. I was a bit hesitant at first, mostly because I didn’t know how it worked.
To get around using a credit card, you can use your mum and dad’s Internet provider email address (that’s what I did). Ebay just needs to have some form of identifying you through your IP or credit card for example, so that if you are a scammer and the police need to press charges they can trace you - but you won’t need to worry about that.
And then sign up to PayPal, which transfers money from your bank account to your PayPal account, then the money goes from there to another person’s PayPal account and back into their bank account. It’s kind of like a buffer between the seller’s and buyer’s bank accounts so they don’t have to know your banking details. It’s really safe and I haven’t had a problem with with PayPal. (Pixar Planet even uses PP for their donations).
You will have to mark the option so that sellers will send the items to a PO box, and not your home address (so they don’t need to know it). Anyway, I’m rambling, but eBay is really great for obtaining those hard-to-get Ratatouille items, and you can find some real bargains on there, plus your shipping will be cheaper because you live in the US.
Hope that information helps in considering signing up to eBay.
Heheh. Well, I think by the time you get here all of the Ratatouille merchandise will be gone. But hopefully future Pixar films will have better merchandise released down here, and the situation will be resolved. And let me know when you are coming - I can show you around! Heh.
Here is Ratatouille merchandise from the UK: click
For the most part, their Ratatouille merch is different from the US/Canadian/Australian merch. I like the slippers and action figures the best. In fact, the action figures are better than the ones by Mattel in the US. Emile in the cup is a really nice model.
rachel - My apologies for not getting back to you in a timely fashion…
Thank you for the information concerning signing up to eBay! Perhaps I’ll consider joining the “club” in the future when I’m in need of some eBay merchandise/products.
Yeah, you’re right. All of the “Rat” items will probably have disappeared by then, but I wouldn’t mind being given a tour of ze lands of Australia in any case.
Wow – those are really nice figures and things from the UK! The snowglobes, especially, are absolutely darling. And so that’s where they sell Ratatouille briefs/underwear! Typical. They have to be all the way on the other side of the planet. Those are some pretty cool things, all the same. (snigger)
