Yes, I’d love to see some pictures. I love randomness.
My camera’s elsewhere, but I think Mitch posted photos of them somewhere here on the forums.
rachel - Man, I want the quilt cover and the video game so bad! I collect the latter of those things… (snigger)
Thanks for the pictures, dude! I’m getting hungry just looking at 'em.
Speaking of merchandise, I walked into our local Hallmark store the other day…and what should I find but this:
PixarVixen mentioned that Hallmark would carry select Pixar ornaments this season, and when I saw this little trinket sitting right in front of…er…above my head, I couldn’t…resist.
Included is the entire recipe for cooking your very own ratatouille meal (displayed inside the book), a description of the book (on the back), a review by Brad Lewis (on the back), and a possible “disclaimer”/final note (on the back). Below is an quoted version of the book descriptions and Brad Lewis’ after-note. I made out as much as I could…
Book Description:
“Friendly and enthusiastic, ‘Anyone Can Cook’ is the ______ culinary reference for both the novice and the professional cook. Writen by Auguste Gusteau, owner and chef of the world-reknowned French restaurant, ‘Gusteau’s’, this book _____ relays his experience in gourmet kitchens as well as turtle ______ learned (?) from his mother and grandmother. With each dish Gusteau ______ to _____ remembers his first rule of cooking the best cuisine is made for friends.”
After-note by Brad Lewis:
“If you’re one who can turn/burn (?) ____, I highly recommend ‘Anyone Can Cook’. You’ll learn how simple it is to prepare great meals (?) sure to impress your family and friends.”
Final Note/Disclaimer:
“Auguste Gusteau is the owner and chef of ‘Gusteau’s’ in Paris. ‘Gusteau’s’ is world-reknowned for superior tradtional French cuisine and its friendly neighborhood atmosphere.”
If you hadn’t guessed yet, I’m near-sighted.

Mitch - Yeah, the video game is awesome! Glad you liked the piccies. I’ll post more soon.
You have your own Hallmark store? No fair. Yeah, that ornament is totally wicked!!! I’ve seen it on eBay. I didn’t know it had that much detail on it. From what I’ve gathered, it is a very finely crafted item. Glad you like it. Are you going to hang it on your Christmas tree, or just keep it in the box?
Oooh! I must have it! It looks so cute! Thanks for the pic Mitch!
Mitch: That’s awesome!
I was in Hallmark today, and I didn’t come across any Ratatouille ornaments. In fact, the only Pixar ornaments I found were from Cars…
Mitch- That is so CUTE! Remy looks pretty over-excited in that ornament.
rachel - What? You guys don’t have a Hallmark store? That sucks, dude! Well, you can always order one of your own from the official Hallmark website or Ebay, I believe.
The Star Swordsman - You’re welcome! I’m glad you like the pictures.
LeBatEnRouge - Really? That’s odd. Maybe they’re all sold out of them? When I purchased the Ratatouille ornament, the lady who rang me up at the register said that they completely sold out of the 101 Dalmations ornament (at least, they did in that particular store). Perhaps this is true of the Ratatouille ornament in other Hallmark facilities?
lizardgirl - Haha! Yeah, he’s all, “Looook! Look, look, look! Look at this!”
How can I eat my mints if they’re in a box? Heheh.
Nah. Unless they are an extremely valuable item (ie., a signed poster, etc…) I never keep my merchandise and toys in their boxes. It’s a crime, I tell you!
So yes, we’re gonna hang it on the tree…provided that my little sister doesn’t break it. (snigger)
– Mitch
Mitch - Yeah, I’m going to try eBay. Fair enough, then. I would be to scared to hang it on our tree just in case someone broke it.
Eh, same here, but I wouldn’t want to keep it in it’s box, all the same I normally keep my collectibles in their boxes, but I probably wouldn’t do the same for ornaments.
LBER - Well, each to their own. But yeah, it would be good to have the ornament on display, even if it was up really high on the tree - away from little hands.
Heh, I normally put my favourite ornaments near the top of the tree for that reason, AND because they’re more noticable way up there
The only downside being that that’s a pretty long way for them to fall if… well, y’know. I’m just sayin.
Good point.
Well, yeah… unless you have really soft carpeting, or a small tree Haha. Good point, though.
Well, I hope you find it, dude.
Yeah, that’s my only complaint, as well. I’d have to place it high enough so as reaching hands won’t snatch it, yet I can’t place it too high in case it tumbled to its “death”, as kageri mentioned. Hmm…
– Mitch
Thanks, Mitch! I’ve already ordered it, so I can’t wait until the ornament is delivered so I can put it on the Christmas tree.
So, is anyone going to get a Ratatouille calendar for 2008?
(PS. The first thing that comes up when you type “Ratatouille calendar” into Google, is The Tailer Reporter website.)
rachel - Awesome! Have fun putting the ornament up on your tree when you do receive it.
As for the calendar: Oh yes, I bought that months ago. It’s firmly planted on my bedroom wall. (snigger)
Puh-ha! My obsession must be deeper than I thought…
– Mitch
Oh I know one prson who has a calendar like that. It looks really cute.
Mitch - Heheh. I thought you would have it already.
My favourite pic is the one with Colette and the bread, and Linguini eating his breakfast. I somewhat like my birthday month (July) because Remy looks so cute, but for some reason it’s not on the back of the calendar. I like the “coffee stains” on the inside, but I wish they would have used some shots from the movie outside of Gusteau’s kitchen.
