Congrats to all who worked on Ratatouille! A great win!
Yay!
Here here! raises glass They deserve it.
All right… that’s great news! Thank you! It sure deserved it.
I was so lucky to have been able to work on it, as I consider it one of the all-time greats that will be around for many, many years.
Hey… here’s hoping for the Oscar!
Congrats to Ratatouille! I knew they were going to win big. Very awesome news.
Congratulations to everyone at Pixar, and everyone on the Ratatouille team! It deserved to win.
Onwards to the Academy Awards! ![]()

Congratulations to Pixar!
That’s awesome! I just wish the Golden Globes had actually happened so they all could’ve accepted the award on stage! Here’s hoping the Academy Awards go through.
Yeah how about those golden globes? I didnt even know they happened until after the fact! Anyway, congrats to Ratatouille for winning!
Congratulations Pixar!
Congratulations to Pixar for this very well deserved win. Although I won’t be able to justifiably compare the three nominees, since I have seen neither The Bee Movie nor The Simpsons Movie, I am very happy that Ratatouille won this award for the mere fact that it was a masterpiece.
As for the Oscars, here are some of my predictions as to which categories Ratatouille will get nominated in:
Best Animated Feature
- This is pretty much a lock.
Best Original Screenplay
- Very likely, I would say.
Best Original Score
- This would make up for the big Oscar snub back in '04 (TI fans out there, you know what I mean
). More importantly, Ratatouille actually deserves this nomination.
Best Sound Editing
- I don’t see why not.
Long Shots:
Best Original Song (for “Le Festin”)
- Le Festin was a great song, and it fit perfectly with the movie. Based on precursor awards, though, this nomination, though probable, doesn’t seem very likely. (For the record, I am actually rooting for “That’s How You Know” from Enchanted to win this one, despite the fact that I haven’t seen the film)
Best Picture
- Again, rave reviews make this nomination a possibility, but it likely won’t happen.
Slightly offtopic, but since it’s not worth starting a new thread, I’ll just say that in today’s LA Times there was a yearly “Studio Report Card” article, where the reporter rates the various studios’ output over the last year and grades them on quality, box office, etc. The article is online (go to www.latimes.com and type in “studio” and “report card” in the search box).
In the online version, there’s only a tiny picture from Ratatouille (the article mentions the rave reviews of Ratatouille in passing) – but in the print edition of the newspaper, they decided to use a giant picture of Remi – taking up about 1/3rd of the section’s front page! Now that’s putting your best foot…er…rat’s foot forward!
So even now at the end of the year when looking back, they decided to use Remi to represent Disney’s success this year (instead of, say, using a picture of Pirates 3).
Awesome ! Congratulations to Pixar, Brad Bird, John Lasseter, … and Jan Pinkava for this incredible idea ! ![]()
Oh, well, a major congrats on that win. Yeah, they pretty much did have it already won, considering it was up against Bee Movie (which I knew wasn’t going to get the award, thank god) and The Simpsons Movie .
miafka - My word. That is heart-touching…
Thank you for sharing that with us. ![]()

isn’t spelled remy, not remi?
anyways, congratulations to do the whole crew!
I for one am not surprised about its winning in the Golden Globe, as most Pixar productions (excluding some in particular which I shall not mention) are masterpieces created by great crews which brought the optimum level of quality in sound, graphic, and most importantly, plot. Congrats, all you guys which made Ratatouille successful, and of course, all fans of it, too (I need to watch it again to appreciate its extraordinary aspects).
Sylvermagykan: Remy’s name is spelled R-E…wait a minute, I just spelled it. xD
WBoon: You can say that again!
