M-Bur: I use plain old Quick Time Player and Paint. For movies like Ratatouille and Cars, which I downloaded off of iTunes, I can open it in QuickTime, pause on a frame I want, go to the drop-down list and click “copy”. Then I paste it in Paint.

However, with my digital copy of WALL•E, it won’t let me do that. It gives me a grey screen when I copy it. So I have to use the Windows Vista snipping tool, which is a pain in the butt and you have to crop it just right so you don’t crop a piece of the QT screen into your frame. :unamused: Tedious work, but it’s worth it.

Pixfan: Well, usually my work comes in very small bits, anyways. Every now and then I’ll get this huge surge of ideas, and I’ll make like ten siggys, but recently they’ve just been trickling in. :frowning: But thank you so much for coming to check up on them and look at them. Really, really appreciate it!!! :smiley:

Here are some I made from images on the various pages of The Art of WALL•E. (No, I don’t own the book… wish I did. :frowning: I got these off of Photobucket.)

Personally, I really like the last one. I’d use it if I weren’t trying to stick to a Ratatouille theme right now. :stuck_out_tongue: Hope ya like 'em!

Wow, now I really want that book! :open_mouth: I don’t know what it is, but I find the Auto avvie amazing…I’d use it, but I just switched mine. So I’ll wait a bit before trying it out. :slight_smile:

Wow, this is supremely excellent, little_chef_eva09! I liked the fourth avatar too, its simplicity and Wall-E’s cute waving gesture is just adorable! Mind telling us which Photobucket account did you get the pics from? I’d like to save some of these images, as I’m too broke to buy the book… :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember reading an open copy in a bookshop at Vivocity (a major shopping mall in Sing) and loving the illustrations! :smiley: They were stunning!

TDIT: I will look up those pages on Photobucket… it takes me a good twenty minutes to wade through the hundreds of pages of WALL•E pics… grrr…

Anyways, I’ve made a couple more; two of the siggys for some of the members here, and one avvie for my friend JF. :smiley: Hope ya like…

(those two were for JF. The next was for bright dot-dasher, since I had a random inspiration to make one for her. :slight_smile: I think it’s gorgeous!!!)

I love your AUTO avatar! It’s interesting how you didn’t capitalise any of the words, was it an artistic decision, I wonder? What font was that? AUTO looks like he means business!

And your M-O/Wall-E sig is heart-melting. Reminds me of a buddy flick. Hey, wouldn’t it be awesome if they did a Wall-E and M-O buddy flick a-la Toy Story, 48 Hrs or Lethal Weapon? That would be spectacular! :smiley: “We is friends”. Laugh out loud!

BDD’s sig looks gorgeous too. Was it the same sparkly effect you did in your previous Wall-E and Eve avatar?

rachelcakes: I know… Alfredo is such a sweetheart anyways (except when his Italian side comes out… :laughing:), and I thought the siggy portrayed his innocent personality perfectly. :smiley: Glad you like it!

TDIT: I sent you a PM regarding the link. :wink: And about the “non-capitalization…” naw, it wasn’t out of creativity or anything - I just didn’t want to capitalize it, and it turned out pretty sweet. I’ve been really into enhancing focal points in the screencaps I have, and they seem to make great-looking siggys!!! For instance; take a look at the first new one I made today…

I really worked on bringing out the shinyness and uniformity of GO-4, and I think the effects really made it pop. :slight_smile:

The second one I made today is completely “me”… through and through.

little_chef_eva09: Let me tell you that the “On Duty” one looks neatly done and almost like an official sign or something; the second one is so cute and definitely describes the image.
The earlier posted AUTO avvie is creative and goes well. The WALL-E and M-O friendship one is touching and lovable. Sooo sweet! And “can’t touch this” was hilarious. I can picture the Captain tauting AUTO with those words. It fits! It really does!
And I am deeply thankful for that siggy you made for me. It looks marvelous! It’s starting to inspire me now! <3I love it! And it looks like Remy’s actually facing me and talking to me…I’ve wanted that to happen for so long! wish there was a tears of joy smiley What a creative way to brighten someone’s day! :smiley:

I likee the GO-4 3-D popping effect! Was it a drop shadow or somethin’? What font did you use for the tagline? Sorry, I just like to ask all these technical questions cos’ I’m learning too. :smiley:

And Wall-E peeking out of his ‘box’ is so adorable! He is a little paranoid, but that’s probably due to his shy nature. :slight_smile:

Thanks for the message, I got it and replied. Imagine the irony (could it be considered irony?) when I later saw your “Bad Day” thread. What a bummer, things were working out pretty well for you. Oh well, I really hope you can get your PC fixed so that you can recover all your stuff. :frowning: Better yet, if you can recover it and get a Mac to migrate it all over to! :smiley: I really hope things work out for the better.

TDIT: Yes, I used a drop-shadow effect; I also sharpened and enhanced the color on the little “siren” light of his. The font I used was called “Nasalization” - basically a font based off of the NASA logo. :wink: Pretty much awesome!

Yeah, I wish I could get a new MacBook. That would be my ultimate dream come true. <3 I can still work on the music vid, because the Vista and my mom’s laptop are still working fine. :wink: I’m just worried about some of my home videos and my iTunes library that may have been lost (that is, if I can’t retrieve all the hard drive info).

I just made these yesterday on my PC… after the Service Pack upgrade, I have a lot more compatibility, and I can get PhotoExplosion to work on it! So here is what happened… (All three of these are inside jokes, btw… :unamused: But you should have experience with that by now.)

And finally… this avvie. We showed the original drawing to JF the other night, and after he nearly laughed his head off, we resolved to make it into an avvie.

Anyhoo, for those who may not have seen some of the ones I’ve been wearing, here they are. As you can see, I’ve been wearing this avvie for a while now. It’s one of my absolute favorites.

And um, this siggy is kind of hard to explain. The quote is basically written by me, but it’s actually from a character I made up. :unamused: It won’t be so confusing if you keep on reading my fanfic, for those of you who currently are… :slight_smile:

Speaking of fanfic, I’ve decided to take an excellent “marketing” technique idea from thedriveintheatre and “advertise” my fanfic with siggys. So far, the first two I’ve made are really cool, and I had a lot of fun making them. (The second one basically sums up Chapter Five… which is pretty neat. :wink:)


And lastly, I made this random avvie. I wrote the explanation for it in the “Who has the best avvie” thread.

Man, I have such a good time making these! Hope you like em. I’m always open to new suggestions and such. :smiley:

But the ones that did work were awesome! I love how the “ad” for chapter five has a sort of reminiscent feel to it…as if it were a flashback. At least, that’s what I see. :wink:
