Rick Rolled: To be fooled by a mislabeled video link that takes you to an extremely 80’s video of Rick Astley.

This happens all over the internet. I’ve been Rick Rolled on numerous occasions. I think it’s funny, and I’ve actually succumbed to buying the song from iTunes. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ll admit I was fooled into clicking it, but it’s really a dumb kind of trick. :stuck_out_tongue: Reminds me of something a spammer does … but that’s just my opinion and I’m entitled to it.

This is supposed to be a topic on what everyone here thinks of Rickrolling. I created this topic because I have never been rickrolled IN MY LIFE until just yesterday, and I was so mad! Although with everyone doing it, it had to happen sometime. xD

Yeeeah, I agree. It wasn’t really all that funny, considering most of us didn’t even understand it.

I think Rick Rolls are quite funny. Mind you, they haven’t happened to me too much, but if I kept clicking them it would get a bit annoying. It’s just one of those Internet things, no point getting mad about it. shrugs

I’m not getting mad about it - I just didn’t understand it and when I did, I found it pointless. :stuck_out_tongue: And I’m usually easily amused, lol!

Most people don’t understand Rick Rolling since it is kind of pointless, anyway. Which is kind of the point. ;-p

I think Rick Roll are Funny and Annoying sometimes. And There are 2 types of Rick Roll’s. Video only ones and the real Rick Rolls. The video Rick Rolls are like the ones you find on youtube and YouGotRickRolled.com. The real Rick Rolls are Different than the Video only ones. Not only do they have the video, The Browser Window jumps all over the Place. And when you go to “X” it off. A little bit of Song Lyrics pop up. And when you hit “Ok”, more Lyrics pop up. And that keeps happening till you go through all the Lyrics which takes a little bit of time. These types of Rick Rolls are harmless but are annoying as heck.

Make sure you open it in a new window. And if you want to close it with out seeing the song Lyrics. Do this:

For you MS Windows users: use Ctrl-Alt-Delete and make sure you on the Application Tab. Then click on the Task that is the Browser window for the Rick Roll. Then click on the End Task button

For you Apple Users: Use Force Quit

Oh, it IS quite popular. The video didn’t get 8 million views because it was a Rick Astley music video. :wink:

And there’s another Rick Rolled video that has 12 million views. It is officially an internet sensation.

Oh geez, nightwheel! xD Thankfully I knew already to use force-quit right away on account of the last ‘Rick-Roller’ - when in a state of panic to get that thing off, you kinda forget the simple things to click to get it to stop. :laughing:

Wish I knew how to make one of those. I know plenty more songs that are way more obnoxious. :stuck_out_tongue:

JF: You’re right. The video I linked to was so popular because of that YouTube prank on April 1. 8D 8D 8D And I never clicked on it, just on purpose when I read about it on Wickedpedia.
