Robert Goulet Dies at 73

Tragically, Wheezy the squeeze toy penguin has been silenced once again. :frowning:

Crooner Robert Goulet died at the age of 73 yesterday. He was awaiting a lung transplant while suffering from Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis.

We all remember his upbeat performance as Wheezy’s singing voice of “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” in Toy Story 2.

Rest in peace, Robert Goulet.

Oh, I was thinking about this all day today. Man, what a loss this is. Wheezy has lost his speaking voice (Joe Ranft ) and now his singing voice as well. :frowning:
This is very tragic because I always liked his voice. He was , to me, one of the great American singers of our time. I recently remembered he played a role in Beetlejuice as well. I guess we won’t be seeing Wheezy in Toy Story 3 , unless they get a good impersonator to do the voice ( Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer come to mind) .

Oh, this is just too sad.

Rest in peace, Robert. We’ll be forever grateful of your performace of “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” .

Who would have thunk it. Between Toy Story 2 and 3, we’ve lost both of the people who voiced what most people would call their favourite new character from Toy Story 2. I absolutely love his version of You’ve Got a Friend in Me. And, even though it’s not Pixar, I still love his little cameo in the $pringfield (Casino) episode of The Simpsons (was that him though? or just an impersonator).

Rest in peace, Mr. Goulet. Thank you ever so much for the smiles and the laughs. We sure appreciate the time and effort you put into making Toy Story 2 and other characters and features more memorable.

I don’t get this pixar thing because I’m kind of new.

Robert Goulet: rest in peace good man. Thank you for your contribution.

Heheh. That was really him.

I love the scene when he approaches Bart’s treehouse. “Are you sure this is the casino? I think I should call my manager.” 8D

 What an odd thing to say, especially in this thread.

Rest in peace, Mr. G. I love your performance in Toy Story 2. You really made that ending one of the best in Pixar’s history.

Nelson: “You’re manager tells you to shut up!”

As he awkwardly climbs up the treehouse. ;-p

Rest in peace, Mr. Goulet. :frowning:

How sad- Wheezy really has been silenced. His version of ‘You’ve Got A Friend In Me’ is practically iconic. Rest in peace, Mr. Goulet.

I can’t believe Wheezy keeps on being silenced! What is the world coming to!? :frowning:
