Here we
can discuss about Blue Sky’s second film, Robots .
This is a really great
movie. The rendering is fantastic. And what a great cast! Robin Williams made me crack up in this movie. And we
got to see the return of Drew Carey as well. Hadn’t seen much us him since his TV show. He was great. Just a
terrific movie. Period.

I absolutely loved Robots when it first came out
in theaters, and was equally surprised in that it was quite an endearing and adequate little film. I think my
favorite character, by far, is Deisel.
And yes – Robin Williams was excellent. Although, you forgot to
mention Ewan McGregor, who also played out a wonderful performance in his character.
I
actually like this film, even though it’s not Pixar. Robin Williams was funny, as always ^^ The only thing that
bugged me was the ‘see a need, fill a need’ or something like that. Bugged me. To no end. And I’ve got a
little brother who absolutely loves to repeat it.
I also liked it that Mel
Brooks played a voice.

Mitch - Deisel is my favorite too. Heh.
Yeah, Ewan did a
great job as Rodney. Blue Sky knows how to make a good cast. Mel Brooks, Drew Carey, Robin Williams, etc.

I just recently bought the DVD, and on the commentary, Chris Wedge said that for the scene with Rodney
and Fender showing up at the Bigweld Ball, Robin did the scene eight times with eight different dialects.
“And I picked the gay Mexican” he said. Haha!

My friends and I watched it for Robin Williams, hahaaaa!
It was pretty
good. Fender was amusing for the most part. We all HATED the fact that Rodney did not end up with Piper. Her name
rhymes with viper… what more do you want??
They were cute together, and looked like something would happen
between them, but we ended up disappointed with that.
Robots is a cute movie, but I thought it was more eye
candy than anything else.

Bill - Yay – another Deisel fan!
Angie - Yeah, I was also hoping that Rodney and Piper would get together at
some point in the film; too bad he chose the other gal – he and he just don’t match, for some reason. Heh.
PixarVixen - It is – I just like it for the humor
and the eye-candy.
I originally saw this movie oh so long ago when there was
an article featuring the creator and his works and I found it really interesting. I am too often anti-non-Pixar
animated films so it was big of me to open my spectrum. I enjoyed this film a lot, even though I don’t remember
a lot of it now.
Personally, I
thought that it was an okay movie. Not my favoirite, but okay.
Yeah me too. I thought it was okay. Decent enough. Not enough though for me to
buy it once it was released. The only reason I saw it anyway was because Robin Williams was in it.

I thought it was
okay as well - like PixVix said, more eye-candy than anything else. As far as CGI animation goes, I think BlueSky
is second only to Pixar…I loved the look of Ice Age 2 looked but thought the film itself was mediocre, which is
too bad because I loved the first one.
OMG, I LOVE ROBOTS !!
I was waiting for a
post like this, seeing how this is my favorite non-Pixar CG film .
My favorite characters are Rodney,
Ratchett , and Diesel .
I like the way Diesel can change his voice by switching voice boxes all the
time .
Rodney is kind of a non -Pixar version of Flik from A Bug’s Life .
Ratchett is my
favorite CG bad guy that was not done by Pixar . I love his shiny design , and his hilarious dialogue is great .
I also love Ratchett because I feel sorry for him … having an abusive mother and all.I wish that Rodney would
have saved Ratchett at the end and opened his heart , making him feel proud of who he is without shiny
“upgrades”.
I also loved Drew Carey as Crank . My favorite part is when Madame Gasket is
like " I’m a women . " and Crank says " Ouch! " while Diesel’s eyes pop .

I
adored Robots.
It may not have been perfect, but it was good. The humor was good at parts and stale in others,
and the ‘big-celebrity’ cast kind of got on my nerves at times- but it was a really funny and cutes film
besides. It also got me into Ewan McGregor (voice of Rodney) who is now one of my favorite actors.

Robots may have had a pretty typical storyline, but the way it played out was pretty original. Hey- at
least it wasn’t another Zoo movie. I thought it was awesome to see inside a fantastical world of robots- it put
us in a world we’d never seen before, as Pixar so often does.
The animation, art and music was also
amazing. The character designs were all cute and unique, and the soundtrack was very cool. It had the tinkery
feeling, you know? Metals and cute machinery noises. I loved it.
Again, the story wasn’t AMAZING, but it
wasn’t bad either- and generally, I think it was a good film.
Although like someone else here said, I really
wish Rodney ended up with Piper instead. Cappy wasn’t much of a character, really.
Ah well.
Hug-Hog – Yeah, same here. I will have to say though, that fart joke in the middle
(the lamp post one) was the funniest fart joke I’ve ever seen! LOL!

Yeah, at least it was one of the better fart jokes I’ve seen- although they
could have used that gag time on something much funnier.
Ah well.
The humor I DID love in Robots,
however, was all the awkward sexual inuendo.
"Oh, don’t worry- making the
baby 's the FUN part."
Or how about the bathroom signs- A plug for guys and an outlet for girls? I
thought that was pretty great.
Hog-Hug – Oh Yeah, I’m remembering now…that was
a little wierd!
