Rule changes to "Best Animated Feature" Award

Wasn’t sure where to put this… but interesting considering last years Academy

Awards

Hmm – that’s very

interesting. At least they’re not giving the “motion capture” aspect of it

too much credit, otherwise…people might talk. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the

information, ROBONICS95!

Yay for the non-recognition of MO-CAP!!! =D

Now we can get back to the real

stuff.

Ah, I like this rule. Thanks for the info,

ROBONICS95.

I like it too! I’m glad they decided to do that. Motion capture wasnt exactly real animation to me either…

Just out of curiousity… had this rule been passed before the last Academy Awards, would Happy Feet been allowed in the nominations?

I am pretty sure they would not have been…

Aggie - My guess would probably be no. This rule change wasn’t in effect at this year’s Oscars. Had it been, I don’t believe Happy Feet wouldv’e won the award. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

Between the MoCap and live action scenes - not a chance.

It’s actually kinda funny - because with this rule, Cars would’ve been the only movie of the three even eligible. It most likely then would’ve been joined by Open Season and Over the Hedge - which of course would’ve been an easy win for Cars.

I wonder if maybe the Annie’s will now follow suit.
