Sarah Palin and Republicans

Here’s an observation, and a survey, if anyone wants to take part.

Something is missing this election for the first time ever in my memory. What is it that’s missing? The word “Republican” after a candidate’s name in all the TV ads, campaign signs, and mailers flooding out everywhere.

In years past, you would see
“Vote Joe Blow, Republican for Congress.”
“Vote Nancy Doe, Republican. A Leader We Can Trust”
or some such things.

But this year, anything identifiying a candidate as being a Republican is nowhere to be seen in campaign ads! At least in the state where I am. I just realized it the other day, and… this is pretty incredible.

Is it just me, or is it this way where you live as well?

I live in an area with both very solid Republican districts, as well as areas that lean Democratic. And I find it fascinating (and very, very telling) that not one sign or advertisement – even those for candidates in staunchy Republican districts that will have no problem getting re-elected – do not have any indication in the ads anywhere showing that they are Republican.

This is pretty incredible. Go back to any election, find any old ads, any old signs, and almost without fail, the Republican candidate will indicate that he’s a Republican in his ads. Not this year.

Curious… take a look at the TV ads, signs, and mailers by you. What’s it like where you live?

we have republican names…strange

Jay Tibshraeney has republican after him although some of our house candidates don’t say whether they are democratic or republican…i get very confused.

Interesting. Is Jay Tibshraeney a Senate candidate then?

well, joehisa, if you live in a liberal area, that is perfectly understandable.

By the way, about the Bush thing, the economic crisis is not his fault. It all started when BILL CLINTON signed a law that made it easier for people to get loans. Then FANNI MA started to give out bad loans, as well as selling bad loans to other banks, effecting them. In 2004, the Congress was warned about this, but they did not listen. And here we are.

He has been Arizona’s best senator along with John Kyle for 4 years…before that he was a Representative. He has been the best member of congress from Arizona. He has always been reelected since he started.

Well, I think right now they are trying to get the “stupid” votes; The people who don’t really pay attention, just listen to everything they are told.

And when the heck has the right-wing ever gone nuts over a flag pin? What we where talking about is the whole hand over heart thing, I have never heard anything about a flag pin.

Absolutely correct in your conclusions Rac. I to feel that the politics have gone to the “stupid” vote.

Exactly. The people who know what they are talking about have already decided.

i think your siggy says my position entirely…

I’m as insane as the world and i love it!!! 8D

As I write this, the US stock market is in freefall for another straight day.
GM share are the lowest they’ve been since the 1920s. About $4 a share.

While the US economy nosedives and the world plunges into the worst global financial crisis since the 1929 depression, while Obama is calmly talking about the economy and how we can get through this, McCain and Palin are completely ignoring anything to do with the economy to instead do nothing but 100% smear and insult. Is this leadership? Is this the kind of President we want? Imagine just for a second, if the sides were reversed, and while the Repulican was addressing this crisis, all the Democrat could do was call his opponent names. Country last.

Meanwhile, McCain and Palin are stoking their audiences at rallies, as their supporters yell out about Obama “KILL HIM!” “TERRORIST!” and “GET HIM!” (don’t believe me. Have a look at news clips over the last three days) – with nothing but encouragement from the podium. It’s gotten so ugly that McCain’s own former top advisor has publically questioned his old boss about it, saying it’s both a tactical and moral mistake to stoke and condone such hatred at his ralles.

As enthusiastic as Obama supporters are, you don’t hear them shout “KILL HIM” towards McCain. And there’s no calming from the podium. Disgusting.

To the entire country now, this just solidifies what kind of a person McCain is. While the country and the entire world is in the worst financial crisis of 100 years (I’m writing this at 1:06pm EST, when the stock market is down over 330 points again today, after 600+ point drop yesterday, day after day of it dropping, as people’s 401ks become worthless), the only thing the McCain campain can do is throw mud. They are a shallow, morally bankrupt campaign and the entire country can see it.

Actually Obama and McCain have doen nothing to clear this mess up…I say we get rid of both of them when it comes to economy. They both want to lower taxes but Obama wants to raise corperate taxes which will lead to company bankruptcy’s. By raising corperate taxes companies will be foreced to cut back resulting in a collapse.

Oh ya…where was that rally at and who did it…i know it happened but who did it and how strong are they for McCain.

Obama is having the same problem with supporters…

1-Students aout side of a school a week ago were wearing camo and shouting “Alpha Omega…Alpha Omega…” Wow…

2-A man was just trying to shake hands with Obama at a rally and the women around him were screaming!! Screaming…it was like a beatles concert…he almost got trampled.

3-Some supporter has started having his children (younger then 13) sing songs for Obama…when was the last time someone sang for a leader…(hmmm…Hitle…oops that’s politically incorrect.)

Quick question joehisa…

Why do you support Obama…

hopefully not becuase of his…

friends…
color…
hope for the change of the hope of the change…

Well said.

Someones been listening to Obama ads. How the heck is Obama’s plan going to do any better? All he is doing is saying what he knows the public wants to hear.

  1. His policy is “taxing the high class, not the middle class” What he is not telling you is his version of the “middle class” is very different from yours. In his policy, my uncle who is raising four kids, having trouble paying their mortgage, and wife works two jobs is “rich”
  2. Finding other forms of energy in thinks like corn and solar are extremely expensive, and solar energy takes more energy to convert it to usable then it contributes.
  3. And yet the energy source that is the most promising is shunned. Republicans have been the ones promoting nuclear, but the Democrats say it is “dangerous”. Well, my dad, who is a Chemist and stuff like this is his JOB, says that the dangers have long been solved.

unfortunitly yes…his supporters loved him…

To a disgusting, morally bankrupt campaign, you can now add ethically bankrupt as well.

“Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin violated ethics laws and abused her power as governor in pressing to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, an independent legislative investigation concluded Friday.”

The 300-page report is now available online in pdf format for anyone to read, with links to in on such sites as the Anchorage Daily News to even Fox News.

I’m sure her supporters will defend her to the end. She could walk into a Target and start smashing TVs or knifing people in the back all on video, and they would still defend her and find someone else to scapegoat it on.

What’s a little inconvenient for those unwilling to face facts though, is that the panel that found her guilty of ethics violations? Has two and a half times more Republicans on it than Democrats (only 4 Democrats – but 10 Republicans) – and unanimously agreed on the verdict. Oops. More than twice as many Republicans find her guilty of ethics violations too? Can’t blame it on “the Democrats” then. Oh, but they’ll try their best…
