^ What’s the kind of stuff they do? Are you writing for a play?
Assignments are tricky SoA especially thesis’ (or projects/literature reviews- here it’s almost split you have to do a big essay on literature/papers as well as a scientific project). I’m doing a Masters and have to do my big literature review (5,000 words) by the end of next month- but they haven’t come back to me with an actual TITLE yet- but I know the general area I want so I’ve started a bit anyway (a few hundred words etc. Plus reading papers- we need to read at least 20). But if nothing turns up by tomorrow night in terms of titles, I’ll do some chasing all the same. She’s… kind of easily distracted. While I like biology, it’s kind of annoying that it takes me a while to write that amount in science (because research and all) while on a good night I can write that amount on fandom related stuff in one night. (Albeit with many spelling errors if I’m too quick.)
(I study a subject involved in the Biological Sciences, mainly ecological based).
(I started learning at 7 with the piano e-j-e, but stopped lessons at 17. I can still play though now! I’ll admit I don’t have a great ‘ear’ for it though- I’d need sheet music, I wouldn’t be able to say simply hear a tune and automatically say that was B minor for example. But it can be fun too!)
And aerostarmonk- I’m sure if you try the best you can your friend will appreciate it.
Well, my area of work is very specific, so our thesis is a lot different from the usual scientific paper.
I don’t have problems with it, but my thesis partner doesn’t show up, and I’ll be forced to tell her I won’t be with her anymore. Thus my worries.
Sounds difficult, but if she’s not willing to put the work in… well, she can’t just expect you to do most of the work or not input enough work into it themselves. Of course, it overall depends on the situation as well but if this has already been stated and things haven’t changed, or time is of the essence what can you do? (I’m not sure what a thesis partner does though to be honest. Are you supposed to undertake the same amount of research etc or could they say be a helpful editor/ someone to discuss issues with? I’m guessing the former here.
SoA: I’m working on a short story for a friend. Even though they’re younger than me, they’re a better writer than myself and an amazing artist. I feel sort of put off by this.
But it’s a speculative fiction story with a gender neutral protagonist who discovers that using a digital camera they got for Christmas along with a copy of PS allows them to alter history. The problem is everyone has memories of an altered timeline except the protagonist.
As our thesis is a production project, we both have plenty of work to do. So I can’t do it all by myself. I’ll need either a new partner or a new project I can do alone.
I’m going over my grade school friend’s to sleep over with all the girls. It’ll be so much fun
Have fun Evangeline.
I’ve created another forum game.
My cat accidentally inflicted some gnarly pain on me. I got a new tattoo last week on my wrist, and if you don’t know, it feels like a reeeeeally bad sunburn. It’s very sensitive, even to the slightest touch. So I’m sitting at the kitchen counter and my kitty wants to cuddle, so she jumps on my lap and later decides to go onto the counter to get some food. She’s a klutz and miscalculated the distance, so her back paws (CLAWS INCLUDED AHHHH) landed on my tattoo, and then she proceeded to use my wrist/tattoo as a surface to jump off of. Owwie.
I’m making Lemon Pie.
Gargoyles has become one of my obsessions
Goliath is my favorite
I want pizza…
I want to watch Toy Story 3 at some point tomorrow. Best thing of the year.
I just got the Wal-Mart edition of that movie for Christmas!!
Did you watch it already? And how’s the Wal-Mart edition?
Yes, it have!! It’s okay, but the shorts all come with other movies except Tokyo Mater. Same special features, though.
Is it less expensive?
Yes, a lot less expensive than the regular one. Especially regarding Blu-Ray.
Oh, well. Wal-mart doesn’t exists here.
Ah. I’m sorry, only because you have to pay regular price.
…But I still despise Wal-Mart. As a business and personally.
I have quite a few animated movies on DVD or blu-ray. My collection can be seen here, but the default may show up as 3 pages, so you might only see a portion of them at a glance. I think there are around 110 animated films in total (not DVDs/blu-rays but individual feature-length films). This thing is my pride and joy; I’ve spent a decent chunk of money on it over the years and always ask for movies for Christmas/birthdays. I’m hoping to get to 150 by the end of the year, but that will mean adding a lot of crummy movies to my collection. For those stinkers, I’ll need to start searching for $5 used DVDs. Hey, at least I’ll still watch them.
