Say something about yourself

That’s one nice collection! Sadly, it would be very difficult to achieve here.

I only haave 34 movies in my room. We have something like 1000 in the family room, though.

^ :open_mouth:

Good golly, Miss Molly, I don’t even think I can come up with 1,000 movies I can stand watching!

Yep. My dad has been collecting them since '94, we get them for Xmas and Bdays all the time, and we spend a lot of time at used book stores.

It’s sort of like you have your own little video store there. There must be few movies that you want to watch but don’t have, huh?

Neither of my parents have a working VCR anymore (except for one attached to a small, very small television), so we don’t really have many videos. I was crushed when I moved before high school started and discovered that my mom threw out most of my Disney videos without telling me. She figured teenage angst + black clothes = no longer cares about Disney. Never!

And how is it that you have so many movies and you haven’t watched them all??? I couldn’t stand the temptation!

The ones we don’t have mostly are Disney. My favorite things to watch. We don’t have Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, or Tarzan, because my dad hates them. We also don’t have Avatar. :frowning:

Ok, I won’t get into an argument about how live action movies can also be good 8D

I like plenty of live action movies. I just have an irrational obsession with Renaissance era Disney movies, almost as much as Toy Story and The Incredibles. I like Forrest Gump, A League of their own, the first Star Wars trilogy, most of the bond movies, the first 3 Indiana Jones movies, etc.

I think my animation collection slightly outweighs live-action, but that’s because the former has more watchability with me. There are only so many live-action films I’ll watch more than once or twice a year.

It’s something expected from a forum like this one.

Actually, I’m one the few members here who’s not specially an animation fan. Instead, I love movies in general. It just happens that Pixar’s films are among the best films ever

Well, I do watch a lot of movies that aren’t animated, but with the exception of maybe 200 or so, I don’t watch them more than once. Lately I’ve been on a documentary kick, which is fun.

I love documentaries, but definitely my thing is fiction.

I definitely enjoy watching animation much more, because it’s more creative on the technical side. I mostly like classics and science fiction, with a few doccumentaries and biogrraphies in there. But with animation, I could watch (almost) anything.

I like mythbusters. Especially ones where they blow stuff up.
I love explosions.

Vacations were really short at my university this time. I don’t wanna start so soon.

I had one of the best conversations of my lifetime just a few hours ago. I made a new friend and we got into a pretty epic discussion about all things media. We discussed Michael Giacchino and his musical chameleon ability, the re-classification of Disney canon, the making of webcomics, the negative aspects of the film industry and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

I also gave one of the most epic geek rants about why Batman isn’t that relatable or realistic and how he just might be the most overpowered character in the DC universe.

I love explosions, too, PPT!!

But I would take plot over action.

I had a similar experience at a concert on campus. A guy who was in a couple of my film classes was there and we started to geek out about movies, but because a band was playing we were shouting to each other the whole time in the back. Then there’s a girl in the art department who is THE only person I’ve met in person who watches the same sort of Japanese/East Asian movies I do. She’s also interested in animation to a degree that I’m not quite sure of yet. We might share an apartment next year.

Those rare people who share the same passions are so nice to meet.
