My mom thinks it will be a good first horror movie for me. I asked my older sister who has seen the movie if its scary, she said its not scary at all expect for one scene. I can’t wait to watch!
Well I Finally watched it last night, here is my review:
All I can say is “Wow” The movie is very fun, very funny, and pretty scary. I jumped out of my skin when the clown strangled Robbie on his bed. I also was shaking when [spoil]the physic guy went in the bathroom and ripped his face off [/spoil] Anyways, the movie begins with the little girl Carol talking to the TV. Then a hilarious TV argument. Then you see Robbie climb a tree. (this is important) Then a storm comes, and a huge thunder happens, So they go to sleep in the parents room. (I was like that when I was little) And then the little girl wakes up. She goes up to the TV.A few seconds pass. Then a hand comes out of the TV (I jumped at this part) Then it reaches into the wall, and a earthquake happens. The parents and kid wake up,the little girl looks at them and says her famous line “THERE HERE!”
Does the movie end there? No. But I really enjoyed this movie. It was fun to watch and I enjoyed it very much. [spoil]The skeleton scene at the end was scary! [/spoil]
I also liked at the very very end were [spoil]then go into Holiday INN and the throw the TV out [/spoil]
Oh yes, Poltergeist is a great film, and a classic at that! It would be, coming from the likes of Tobe Hooper who also made The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which was an amazing success and highly regarded in slashers.
As for a scary movie, that I personally find to be terrifying, I would go with The Blair Witch Project. Oh, my, goodness… Although, some people did not find this scary [spoil]because you do not see anything in the entire film[/spoil], I just find that by that respect, it makes the movie even more petrifying. My imagination just runs wild, and I just had to clasp my hands across my mouth when Heather, Josh and Michael were being chased with Heather shouting “Oh my god!” O_O. shivers. I swear never to watch that film in the dark again, as I had nightmares for three nights.
Slashers… I love them . They do not scare me one bit, but, I don’t know… in the likes of the later A Nightmare On Elm Street film sequels, they are quite funny. All they do is basically make me jump when the killer jumps out of some corner. [/i]
Agreed. That film creeped me out so much and my imagination ran with it.
As for suggestions, I don’t know where to start as there’s so many and it depends what kind of horror you’re into (zombies, ghosts, slashers etc).
Recent scary films that I have found to be good are [Rec] and Drag me to Hell. Both were really entertaining, the latter being what I can only describe as the scariest comedy I’ve ever seen.
If you’re wanting classic horror then I would reccomend Alien or The Omen and of course Psycho
Pretty good. A little cheesy, but nice! Was a little scary, but not too bad. I also like the ending were Father Malone is just standing there and he turns his head to see his head about to be chopped off Although I don’t really have much to say about this film. I do wanna see the remake, but I heard it was terrible. But anyway a 6/10
I saw Paranormal Activity tonight, and was very disappointed. I’d even been told by the ticket guy at the cinema that it was really scary, and there’d been reports of people having to leave and that sort of thing…But when I saw it, I didn’t see what all the fuss was about. Aside from a few choice jumpy moments, I didn’t find it to be scary at all, which was a shame as I love a good scary film.
Oh yeah, that movie. Well, yesterday me and mom went around to random Blockbusters and Hollywood Videos to see if they had Poltergeist 2:The Other Side by all the stores we went to didn’t have it.
I couldn’t get myself to sit through a scary kind of movie, as stupid and sissy as that sounds. Seriously, I’m jumpy enough as it is, and I hate things popping out at me or intense built-up moments or anything like that. Plus even though I’m nearly an adult, I can’t stand anything with gore, either, and I’m sure a lot of scary, intense films have a good degree of it.
I must be like a woos or something. I can’t even watch commercials for them…
I’m not a fan of scary movies either. When I watched a bit of Signs (that alien movie with Mel Gibson), I jumped at the part when the kids in Brazil see the alien walking in the street. My mom says it’s the music that makes you jump, really.
A great film! It was funny, jumpy, and scary. What made it scary was this guy
In his first scene were they were at the mall and he was following Carol Anne and he was walking through people
And when he said “YOUR ALL GONNA DIE!” And they played creepy music
And when Steve puked out his own brain and it turned into this
<img src=“{SMILIES_PATH}/youwhaaa.gif” alt=“o_0;;” title="You
Whaaa…" />
And when Robbie’s bracers tied him up and chocked him
And when the toy robot came to life
This movie has a lot of scary scenes, but when the movie wasn’t scary,it was BORING!! There were some times in the movie were I was all like
“Oh come on,go to a scary part!” Sometimes I regret saying that 7/10
I have to say this movie was bad, barley scary, only two jumpy moments. But it did have some good and funny parts. I jumped out of my skin when [spoil]Tagina got shocked and got mummified when everything was all quiet! And then how the older sister came out of her body! [/spoil] I give this movie a 4/10
