sequel?

gottalovepixar - I’m not interested in a 2D spin off series

made by someone else. What I would want is a 3D animated series made by Pixar in the same quality as the movie.

And the characters in the tv-series didn’t have to be the same as in the movie, though I wouldn’t mind that. It

could be other cars and other stories from the Cars universe, and I imagine an episode to last about an hour. I

really like the Cars world and would love to see more of it as I said. But I do know that such a series would

never be made, but I can always imagine, right?

The Loner: I agree. If they are going to make a tv series, at least make it with good quality.

But making high quality scenes are really, really hard. Even for Pixar. So if an

hour and a half movie drains out of them, imagine what 20 thirty-minute episodes can do?

What about the

jimmy neutron series?

It isn’t as good as Pixar, because if you compare that

animation with Pixar, tell me, which is better? Pixar would want to go above and beyond. But that would tire

them.

Yeah, A TV series would be cool. However, I doubt Pixar

would do the Animation.
Probably just outsource it.

Nice little scene there gotalovepixar!

Call me

crazy but I felt the film was complete. Sure, I would’ve liked to know the other characters more, but other than

that I think it’s alright as it is.

FONY: Plus, I think that too many

characters could be a little too much for me. I think we already have enough characters in Cars. Personally, I

think that there shouldn’t be any more.

Gasduude: You have to consider the time and money Pixar put in a

thirty minute scene. It is a big challenge.

Ok, here is my two cents worth…

Films are meant to be completed. If they do have a

sequel or two that follows them, it should be because they are meant to finish a story that was previously left

hanging. Cars is a feature that, I believe, would be best left alone. What you

remember are the characters and the story as how it was at the very end of the movie, and that’s how it should

be. No revisions – no nothing. Yes, it would be fun to know what the characters’ back-lives where, and what

really happened in the past, but is it necessary?

So, in short, I agree with you,

FONY. Heh.

I hope I didn’t sound too judgemental there.

And plus, I think that in order to create a sequel, one must set up the sequel. For instance,

in Toy Story and The Incredibles, both were set up to have a probable sequel. Cars’ ending didn’t have

that.

I always wondered that…And another thing: How do the cars manage to bulld all

these great cities and roads??? I always seem to think of that when i watch Cars…sigh I wish I still had my

imagination…

I could not see a sequel ANYTIME soon, and we

don’t really need one. The story seems complete anyway, so how are they going to even come up with an idea for a

sequel?

The Star Swordsman - Yes,

exactly. Both Toy Story films and The Incredibles each

had an ending that kind of left the audience hanging there. What happens to Buzz and Woody as Andy grows up? What

does Andy’s new puppy look like? How will The Incredibles defeat the Underminer?

What other bad guys and adventures lie in store for the Supers?

Of course, you could ask the same types

of questions along with Pixar’s other films, as well (with the exception of A Bug’s

Life and Finding Nemo, which both contained the words "The

End" in them, settling the question(s)).

JesusFreak - Welcome to

Pixar Planet!

I have also wondered the same thing concerning your statement

on how the cars built roads and the like. I believe lizardgirl settling this

question, however, as she pointed out that cars like Mater – who have hooks – could easily solve this problem.

Bill - Oh, they could definitely make a sequel if they wanted to, and I’m

sure it would be great, as always. However, I agree in that the film does not necessarily need a sequel. As a

matter of fact, I sincerely hope that it never happens.

Ive heard there making a toy story 3.

Chick Hicks : Two Things , sorry if i’m acting a bit simon cowell-ish

1

. Yes , we all know they are making a toy story 3 . This is Pixar Planet , after all . lol

2 . Can

I ask what toy story 3 has to do with this topic ? Now don’t use TSS against me , because he was comparing how

toy story , unlike cars , needed a sequel . Cars on , the other hand , does not .

Once again , sorry if i

sounded a bit Simon cwell-ish . I’m in my AI mood .

sorry

In essence, I suppose it would be interesting, but I agree with most that I dont think

there needs to be one (but then, i never do, do I?). First, like what was mentioned, I’d hate to see the

coolness get tainted by a sub-par sequel. Second, because of that epilogue at the end, almost all the loose ends

have been tied up. The only thing I wonder is what Dinoco will do now since they technically dont have a car to

sponsor at the moment. But that’s not the kind of thing that could support a whole movie.

Some see this a a sequel! No No on a hummm?!? Thought

Now, the town has its own

Piston Cup racer and Willy’s Butte has turned into a new and improved dirt track. The Piston Cup Series now has

its eyes set on bringing back the past to the future and keeping options for racers to choose their need for

speed. Can’t you imagine the same cars in the dirt and schooled by Doc. Well, Doc got his moment at the 3-way

race and all was amazed, right!! Now he becomes a better person too and realizes that the kid actually changed an

“old man” into something good. So, LMcQ now is a great influence like Doc and The King were and all

three put Chick to a test of sportsmanship. No more info!

Cannot spoil it because all guess what can

happen next?

the story for a sequel is EXACTLY the problem. whatever it is, it will have to be related to racing (because it

is lightning’s world), and there we start running short of ideas… :frowning:

of course, i’d like to see S

and L married (in one of my fanfics they are, they’ve got two kids - a girl named sarah which is red and built

alike to lightning, and a boy (the younger child) named leon who is a little dark-blue porsche). but relationship

woes alone will not carry through a whole movie…

and then again, i fear sequels. “mulan”, for

example, was a stunning good movie. but the sequel… dreadful!

another problem is, that it again would

have to be a family movie with lots of “kids stuff”. but in my humble opinion, the most touching

moments in CARS are the adult moments, and this is also true for the fun shown in CARS. lowering the age level

the movie has to be suitable for, would also lower the fun and the intensity of the story (no offense

meant!)…

well… it’s really difficult!

A Sequel would be awesome, but like alot of people say, it has to have the right storyline.
I notice on alot of Cars Fan Fics, people end up sending Humans to the Cars world. Now, there are no humans in Cars, so I myself think that could be quite interesting, but thinking about it, it’s going too far left and out of story.
So, I’ll pass on that one

Hmmm, just found some possible tips of a Cars 2 giveaway!

Quoted from JV Pixar News site:

The swench blog points out that a comment left on the Jungle Book Documentary (and some musings on pacing in animated film) post on the Temple of the Seven Golden Camels blog by a Pixar story artist who says:

CARS ended up a big financial success, (they are making a secqual already because the merchandise have been fenomenal)

So there’s another hint that a Cars 2 is in the works at Pixar!

A comment to this News from JV Pixar News site:

Yay for Cars 2! I’m pretty sure there’s a Cars 2 planned, my friend knows a security guard at Pixar and got to tour Pixar over the summer. The security guard told him that Pixar is planning a Cars 2.

Interesting eh?

See what happens I guess?

Dan.
