sequel?

What I am afraid of, and I think this is how the majority of you feel, is that they are going to do a sequel just for the sake of doing a sequel without a decent storyline. When you have a sub-par sequel, it kinda ruins the original… :unamused:

I certainly hope that if this is true, they have a great story…

If the Pixarians are the only ones in charge of a Cars II, then it’s going to be great!

Hear hear, but now that Disney has it’s hands in things who knows…not that Disney is bad or anything…

Sorry, but I’m sure there’s not gonna be a sequel anytime soon. So don’t get your hopes up anyone. It’s not gonna be great or horrible because it’s not going to happen!!! Why did they have to start this dumb rumor. A quote doesn’t mean anything, especially on a blog where the person could be an anonymous fraud.

Disney is known (now, at least) for making pretty bad sequels. LOL

John Lasseter recently shut down that division of Dinsey, soooooooooo.
P.S. Sorry for double-quoting.

martini833: He did?!?!?!?!? There shall be a feast!

I don’t believe a sequel will come anytime soon, although I have recently read about a Cars short appearing before Wall E. If they did eventually do another Cars feature film, my choice for story would actually be a prequel.

The Rise and Fall of the Fabulous Hudson Hornet

Knick Knack: Hmmm, that sounds like a good idea. I have always wondered wht his life was like before he quit. Welcome to Pixar Planet dude.

Well…when I was first in my “Cars craze” I was dying for a sequel. Now I’m not so sure. I mean, there are about 1000 unanswered questions about the Cars- how do Cars children come into the world and grow, if they are machines (I have a theory) who originally built the Cars, and where there once humans, and, if so, where did they all go (I have a theory on that too) and yes, I would love to see more, but of Cars is really complete as it is.

I would HATE HATE HATE to see a tv show. All the Disney TV shows of movies are terrible, it wouldn’t be done by Pixar because that would be a tremendous amount of work for them (imagine 20 mini-movies with that animation while they were trying to make other movies) plus they’d probably not have th e original actors- really, it would be a disaster. But its never going to happen, so no worries.

As for a sequel, I trust Pixar. They are good, they make good movies, I don’ t think they would mess it up.

But to be honest, the film in Pixar that I think is crying out for a sequel the most, and that I’d love to see, would be Monsters Inc. I mean, what did happen to Randall??? I wish I knew. But back on topic.

MI will never happen, but the one thing about Cars is that Disney is keeping the movie very much in the limelight. Mega-merchandising,two video games, a short film coming up (which has been verified) Contrast that with Finding Nemo or MI and you see that these movies are pretty much forgotten. OF course, they are older. But even the Incredibles, have you seen any Incredibles dolls recently? Yet Cars is everywhere. So who knows? They will probably just stick with the merchandising because that’s so profitable. But maybe in a few years they will go for another one, to generate more merchandising. Could be.

As for a plot, I have no idea. But I hope we get to see more of Chick.

Randall got beat over the head with a shovel in the swamps of Louisiana and made into a pair of boots… OK not that last thing…

Yeah, but what happened to him? Did he die? Will he come back? If Sully and Mike could make it back into the human world so could he…he probably died, but I hoped he didnt’ cause I really like him… :frowning:

well, this is really off topic. Sorry…

Back to Cars. Well just have to see if there’ll be a sequel. I’m glad we 're getting a short film at least though.

No he didn’t die.
If he did, which he didn’t, Sullivan and Wazowski would be murderers, and we wouldn’t want their fans thinking that do we?

But if banishment is on par with the death penalty then…never mind. xDDD

What do you guys think about the “reliable anonymous source” from the Cars 2 blog?

I don’t trust 'em…

Why not?

Cause they all say they’re reliable. I don’t know who to trust, unless it comes directly from Pixar or Disney.

Oh, I see. That’s a good reason, DHR.

I think there are many possibilities for a Cars sequel.

Cars 2: Lightning Visits Candy Mountain

Nah, that would be more suitable as a DVD short, not a followup.

Candy what?

:unamused:

xD
