I actually hate that poster. It’s just knida’ weird. I’m still exicted for the movie, though.
I like it.
Now that I realise that the thing he’s holding is a pipe, I like it a little more. At first I thought he was about to stab himself or something.
Well, here’s a better version of that poster, taken from the Latino Review website:
I am very much looking forward to this film. Given the fact that it’s being directed under Guy Ritchie seems fitting enough. I’ve heard through various sources that Warner Bros. are considering and/or planning a series. I’d be up for that, I have to say.
In that new poster, it looks like there is a building behind him.
Oooh, he looks really mysterious. I might see this movie.
I love Sherlock Holmes, but I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this movie. I’m not too keen on Downey playing Holmes, and the style looks kinda weird. I prefer the classic Holmes. Still, I’ll wait for more picture/the trailer before I make a major judgement. I’ll probably see it though.
Whoah, that is pretty creepy. Wonder what scene it’s from.
When I saw that poster, the one word I said to my sis was wierd.
I hope not ALL the posters look dark and mysterious.
I’m a fan of moody and gritty posters (some of my faves are Casino Royale, The Bourne Ultimatum and The Dark Knight), so this is up my (dark and deserted) alley.
But what’s up with the goatee and 'tache? I always imagined Sherlock as clean-shaven with a long horse face. Mr. Downey come off looking like Nicholson-lite, if you ask me.
Thanks for the heads-up!
I’m not impressed or excited.
Reason?
Let’s rationalise the movie…
The first Guy Richie movie since the split from ‘Miss Mercy’ herself, Madonna…
One of the greatest characters ever taken from a book to screen… and a character so believable that English tourisim in London actually built 221B Baker Street for the Americans who actually believed he was a real-life man.
And references of Holmes exist now in the TV series House… yes, there are references, but I can’t remember…
Oooh, that does look pretty dark. I’m definitely interested in seeing how this movie turns out - I love Guy Ritchie movies - the kind of grittiness to it - and I like RDJ a lot too. Can’t wait to see more from it!
House IS Holmes. Just as a doctor instead of a detective.
Well, a movie had a poster like that once. Don’t remember what, ending up not being scary at all, so I don’t know.
Just looks ridiculous is all.
