I tink it should (comes out 23rd July in UK) because, the people who live where it comes out in countries a few weeks after its initial release, or 18th of June (comes out few days earlier in countries like Egypt, Israel, Peru etc)…
most people will say they will wait for it to come out without looking at spoilers and what not, but temptation will make them read what happens at the end on here, or on wikipedia or something. So it would pretty much ruin half the movie if they know what’s going to happen. And for places where it comes out later on (comes out in Turkey in September), if they somehow don’t find out what happens, it pretty unfair they have to wait a few months after, which is pretty unfair (I’d hate to be from Turkey). Just my opinion … what do you think??
Another issue that arises with delaying international releases is that people will start pirating the film due to their impatience. Although, the wait for TS3 internationally isn’t nearly as bad as that of other Pixar films; Up was released in the UK almost 5 months after the US release. So be glad it’s not that terrible of a wait.
This has always been an issue with Pixar films (and many other films generally) and it has, for me at least, marred the release of some past Pixar films a little. But Disney/Pixar have their own reasons for doing this, and as Bryko said, the wait this time isn’t so bad (though I’m not sure how long it will take for it to be released everywhere- it seems like there are always a couple of countries that have to wait a particularly long time.)
This topic reminded me to double-check the release dates for TS3! I’ve listed them according to the countries most members on the forum are here from.
17 June - Singapore
18 June - USA
24 June - Australia
10 July - Japan
14 July - France
23 July - UK
28 July - Netherlands
29 July - Germany

Okay, I’m really annoyed the Singaporeans get first dibs while I’m stuck in Oz waiting for its release one week later. And instead of Japan, it’s Germany who’s getting the ‘shaft’ this time.
Still, like most members here have said, the ‘staggered’ release ain’t as bad as last year, where countries like Oz and UK had to wait till September and October, with Japan always at the butt-end of the year. For three years, I have waited months for a Pixar release Down Under. And finally, I only have to wait a week.
In fact, they’re starting to run print ads in Sydney newspapers now. No kidding!
Praaaise the Movie Gods! Hallelujah!
TS3 is released 28 july here in sweden… But it’s Ok. I’m glad I don’t have to wait until October like I did for Up
28 July for the Netherlands?
Man, that sucks.
Of course, it’s all just to do those Dutch voiceovers which all sound the same. I think. Uh…
It would be nice if the release date was earlier here in the UK, but I can wait. As a kid growing up, I was always jealous that the US would have films months before they hit the UK. It’s a lot better now though. Case’s like Up were the norm. I remember the film, The Iron Giant was released on video in the US before it even hit the cinema here. I’m just glad I can now take my kids to see Toy Story on the big screen. Until then, I will have to watch TS1/2 for the hundredth time on dvd. My three year old is addicted, like his big brother used to be.
Judging by my post history, Up’s Australian release date slipped from June to September in mid-April. I reserve the right to remain skeptical until the end of the month.
To my feeling, I think that TS3 will be out on the same date as the U.S.A, I got that sorce from a entertainment news show, I can’t remember.
But this is what is what Pixar Planet Said on the home page.
Pixar’s 2010 Film Release: Toy Story 3
Opens in US June 18th, 2010
Opens in Australia June 24th, 2010
I can’t doubt PP
To answer the title’s question, a resounding Heck Yes! -Omar
I’m afraid I’l probably do that, seriously I can’t wait 73 days for it to come to sweden. Then I’d spoil the whole film before I have even seen it.
I still don’t get the reasons behind this. The piracy will kick in, so it’s worst for them.
I know in some cases, it’s due to dubbing reasons. But obviously the UK doesn’t need dubbing, so beyond that, I have no idea.
Well, I do know that the dubbing is made before the movie comes out, at least in most languages.
My country release the dubbed version the same day of the USA opening, so the dubbing is not problematic.
I know one of the girls in this blog was involved in the swedish dubbing at one point, and that was made months ago also.
