Yeah, also if he’s working as a garbageman, it’s a good assumption that he never attended higher education.
Just to reiterate, how old was Sid in the first Toy Story? If Andy was at least 6 in the first film and Sid was a pre-teenager (because there’s no way he’s Andy’s age) wouldn’t that make him at least 25?
EDIT- Please don’t reveal spoilers in your posts! Thanks.
Hmmm, I guess that would make him 25ish by Toy Story 3. Man, I wish I had one of those FBI photo aging software. Guess I’ll have to wait until Toy Story 3.
I’m loving the way how [spoil]Pixar gave him a small cameo[/spoil] and for some reason, [spoil]being a garbageman fits him somehow.
Heh, perhaps he changed from ‘mutilating toys’ to ‘customizing’ toys (like, paint over toys, add stuff to 'em, etc, etc…) I customize Littlest Pet Shop critters for fun occasionally, and I know some adult people who do, too. I’m sure they all were Sids earlier in their life once. [/spoil]
I’m pleased to hear that [spoil]Sid is going to be in Toy Story 3, even if it is just a cameo. Like you guys, I can’t wait to see what he’s going to look like- I’m struggling to imagine him as an adult! Not sure about the garbage man thing, though…As in, I’m sure it’s true that that’s the cameo, but it’s a shame if he is a garbage man, especially as the Pixarians seem to relate to him more than they do to Andy. I’d rather Sid ended up as a rocket scientist or something, haha.[/spoil]
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Sid IS going to be in TS3, but there’s no confirmation that he’s definately a [spoil]garbage man[/spoil]. At least not until we see the rest of the movie.
Yeah, someone on GameFAQs confirmed that Sid had a small cameo. He didn’t say what he was doing though.
[spoil]The garbageman thing seems pretty legit to me, both storywise and the rocking out on a garbage can comment.[/spoil]
Also, does anyone know if his skull shirt was supposed to be a shout out to The Misfits logo? Kinda like how there’s a Megadork post (in place of say Megadeth) in his room in TS1?
My only question about the Sid cameo is whether or not we’d see any change in his personality since we all felt that he was never going to be the same again after his toys scared him. Maybe they’ll have him talking to another worker about this “freaky thing that happened to him as a kid”.
There was also a Ramones poster in his room (there’s probably a lot more references, but I’m not a metalhead).
As for Sid’s shirt, the people on Wikipedia originally thought it was a Punisher reference, but I didn’t see it that much. I found evidence otherwise.
Does the logo for Zero Skateboards look familiar?
I think it’s a fitting nod, as Sid’s a skater and rocker.
Awesome news to hear that [spoil]Sid IS coming back for TS3, I knew he would! I wouldnt be suprised if he’s a villian again, I bet he is a plot twist that folks arent expecting. After Woody and the others came to life on him, he would have to be nuts. BUT they could go the other way and have him be the hero. Genuinely thanking Woody for putting him in his place, as no one else did. He could’ve grown up “reborn”[/spoil]
I wouldnt say anything about Sid, as no one here has seen the movie. Maybe some have seen the college tour, but thats still 30 minutes shy.
Until then, anything is open.
Why would Sid be a garbageman in Andys area? They moved. I think Pixar is smarter than just to out of the blue have SID show up, and slow the pace of the movie down, unless he is INVOLVED in the story…
^ Even though Andy’s family moved… they could’ve just moved a few blocks away or something. So it still makes sense that Sid could be a garbageman in the area.
