Okay, in Toy Story 3, I couldn’t help but notice that Buzz isn’t affacted by water. I mean when he’s cleaned by getting shot with the hose, he’s perfectly fine. Though, to me, I think his electronics and decals would get messed up.
Though not official, the Toy Story 2 video game has Buzz running in rain, jumping in pools, and being submerged in a resevoir. Another Toy Story storybook I had featuring Andy having Buzz in a bathtub.
Semi-relevant: Back in around '98, my friend dropped a Buzz Lightyear in a jacuzzi on accident, and he still talked.
Well, when it came to the cloth toys, did it actually show them getting hosed onscreen? They could’ve just cleaned themselves with a damp rag or something.
I don’t remember seeing the cloth toys getting sprayed now that I think about it…and besides, Woody wasn’t really dirty, since he didn’t stay in the Caterpillar room.
I wondered the samethings!! YDDD when i saw Buzz being sprayed i was like oh no! YD but then i was like oh YDDD
maaaaybe Buzz is just uber cool and he can just do stuff like that YD
and maybe it was soo hot outside they dried faster YDDD ^^‘’ i live in Texas and thats totally relavent to like 30mins in the sun(or not even) and your dry _ i went to the beach this weekend YD so ya
Buzz was the only one that got blasted, the rest just got sprinkled a bit. Somehow Mr Potatohead got completely filled with water, but we arent shown how/why.
As for being water proof, one, he wasn’t completely submerged. Two, most electronics still work once dry anyway. The important thing is that you don’t use them while wet, that’s when they’ll be ruined. so really, as long as he dried by the time he got to Bonny’'s house (where Andy pressed his buttons) he should be fine.
The video game isn’t canon, so I don’t think he’s water proof.
I do think its odd that they dried so fast, but it is a movie after all, they exaggerate for effect.
By the way, they were All dirty, Woody was no exception. They just got back from spending some quality time at the dump after all.
Hey guys, this is another random observation along the same lines… I wonder how they were able to get cleaned off that fast before going to Bonnie’s house… I mean, think about it! - In the scene right before that you saw the toys all covered in dry paint, for Petey’s sake!
I honestly don’t think one squirt of water would wash the paint off that fast.
Another thing I thought of the second time I watched the movie… (If this doesn’t need to be in spoiler tags, let me know. ) [spoil]When Lotso gets found by the guy at the dump, he smells him and says… “Mmm… smells like strawberries!”[/spoil] Don’t you think that they would all smell like dump?? Do they honestly think he’d still smell good after all that he’s been through?
consider that when your around any smell for a long time, you get used to it and don’t notice it anymore. so yes, everything stunk, but they didn’t notice it. I’m sure Lotso still had his scent, even if it was mixed with all that other crap around it.
I thought about the Buzz tihng, and it does seem like his stickers would all be off, they come off easily in real life. His electronics would be alright I guess, and it’s not like he would let himself be ruined.
I thought the same thing about Lotso too, it seems like he would already be rid of the smell from being in the rain
As for Lotso, the garbageman says he STILL smells like strawberries, so it must’ve been pretty strong. The whole Andy noticing the smell thing honestly never occured to me, but we’re only shown the tail-end of the cleanup.
BTW this thread isn’t meant to be taken seriously.
Only shown the tail end of the clean up? We’re shown them turning on the hose. are you suggesting they turned it off then on again at some point? Or merely that they skippedover more time then we’re led to believe?
Well if I remember, there’s the shot of the hose handle, then of Buzz. Mr. Potato Head is filled with water, which means there’s definetly something missing. Also, they must’ve tried to clean up a little on the way there, like scrape off paint or things like that
