I recently (finally) saw the series finales to Cartoon Network’s Teen Titans and Disney Channel’s American Dragon:Jake Long. I noticed a few interesting similiarities:
The hero (Beast Boy/Jake) sees his blonde former girlfriend (Terra/Rose) for the first time in a long time. She once worked for the bad guy (Slade/Huntsman) but ultimately was willing to sacrifice herself to save the day. Only now she doesn’t remember him at all - she’s no longer a superhero or villian but an ordinary student wearing a schoolgirl uniform. The hero spends most of the episode trying to get her to remember him.

Of course, there are also a lot of differences, particularly the ending - Rose ultimately remembers everything and kisses Jake, and the episode/series ends with Jake talking to his dad, while Terra denies that she even is Terra and the episode/series ends with Beast Boy running off to save the day into a mysterious blank white light.
