Both may be telling the truth, but just blaming the other

Remember the scene where Elastigirl finds out the children stowed away on the jet? Whose excuse do you find more credible?
Violet: It’s not my fault! Dash ran away and I knew I’d get blamed for it and I thought he tried to sneak on the plane, so I came here and then you closed the door before I could find him and then you took off and IT’S NOT MY FAULT!
Dash: That’s not true! You said ‘Something’s up with Mom, we have to find out what’- it was YOUR idea, YOUR idea, it was all-yours, one-hundred percent all-the-time idea!!!
So, do you think Violet was just trying to catch Dash, or they both planned it, or any other explanation?
I say both. Both could be telling the truth. Here is what I believe.
After Violet found out that her SUper Suit can turn invisible and after her mom told her that her father was either in trouble or going to be, Violet must have suspected something was wrong. She probably went to her brother and said that she was going to find out what exactly was up. So Dash could’ve been right about it being her idea.
Violet probably wanted to do this all by herself. She probably hired Kari to watch both Dash and Jack-Jack, but Dash, being the disobedient kid he is decided he wan’t going to listen to Vi in the first place and stow away anyways.
Well, I think maybe Violet suspected something and told Dash to wait in the house while she went to find out. But Dash doesn’t want to get left out and refused. Violet, not being totally irresponsible, had Kari come over to watch him, but when Kari arrived, perhaps Dash was nowhere to be seen in the house so she assumed she’s only babysitting Jack-Jack.
So Violet may have stowed away on the plane by herself, only to find out that Dash is there with her when it’s too late to turn back.
Okay, it’s kinda like your explanation, I guess. I sorta agree with you on the way you put it.
Dash, as disobedient as he is, he probably wouldn’t pull a prank as big as this considering the severity of the situation (I know I, once a mischievous youngster, wouldn’t ). Since Violet was clearly in charged, he naturally assumed that she wanted to stow away on the plane from her openly display of concern for their parents, so he just went along with it and stow away, despite Violet not actually having the intention to stow away (her claim of wanting to find out what was ‘up’ with her mum was probably just an expression of her concern).
Hence, as TSS had already explained thoroughly, it was just a mere misunderstanding.
Yup, both, and explained in the way that TSS put it. They were, after all, both pretty concerned about their parents, as well as being curious as to what the whole super suit thing was about.
I mean, how did Vi and Dash sneak into Helen’s car, then sneak on to the plane unseen? When did Violet find out Dash went with her to find out what was going on?
I’d believe Dash because that sounds more plausible. I dunno why Violet didn’t say the same thing but knowing siblings, she’d want to get her brother in trouble. I know I would sometimes, to save myself.
TSS- Well, Violet could’ve been invisible the whole time, but I’m not sure about Dash…Perhaps he snuck into the car to hide, and Violet did see him going into the car, but couldn’t say anything because their mother was there. And then when they reached the airstrip, Dash might’ve dashed out of the car as Helen got out, as did Violet, I guess. Violet couldn’t really open the door of the car without Helen noticing, could she? Hmm.
Here is what I say. Violet could’ve hidden in her invisible state inside the car. SHe could’ve sat in the back seat, Dash in the trunk. When Helen got to the airport, Violet probably waited until her mom was inside. SHe then got out of the car without anyone knowing, but first, she finds Dash in the trunk. Realize both arrived at the point of no return, they both decided to follow Helen. Dash and Violet with their powers could’ve easily snuck on to the plane.
Nah, I doubt Violet is one to lie about things, even if it’s in the ill-will of her brother. If she was the one who sneaked out first, I think she would had, at some point, admitted that. As I’ve said before, my view is that Dash assumed that she wanted to sneak out from her claiming of ‘wanting to find out what’s up with mum’ so he sneaked out first, Violet found out and followed him due to being left with no choice (the car had probably moved by the time Violet tried to chase after him when she saw him ran into the car), and the rest is, as we say, history.
I think Violet would display a little act of authority by telling Dash to stay at home with Kari and Jack-Jack. She probably didn’t find out about him until they reached the airport. At that point, Violet could’ve easily told Dash to just run home, but Dash, being curious, snuck on the plane instead.
She claimed that he snuck on the plane without any indication that she snuck in herself. Again, this is placed under the view that she is not one to lie. And I doubt Dash would be so innocent as to only being ‘curious.’ He probably snuck into the plane long before and Violet had to run after him.
