So who here is going to see the Double feature?

It seems that I won’t be able to see it till Monday since I’m going camping tomorrow.

Oh well :sunglasses:

Kyle: As I said, it’s being rerendered, plus since it’s a digital projection there will be no film grain. I guess HD isn’t the perfect word, but it’ll still look nicer.

Same here! So don’t feel bad, okay? You got 2 weeks!

I’m seeing it on Monday for my birthday, and seeing it again on the following Friday

I was going to go see it, but I have no one to go with. Normally, I wouldn’t have a problem with it since I used to go to the parks all the time by myself, but lately, I just hate going places alone.

I’m going to see it!

Not tomorrow unfortuently, but I have a group of 8 people that I’m taking with me, and we even have shirts

Lets see… Homecoming Dance or Double Feature…?

Hmm…

Hard choice

I’m going Saturday evening with a bunch of friends! I’m super excited for it! It’s what’s been getting me through this crazy week.

Yep. Two movies for the price of one!

I’ll be seeing this eventually over the next two weeks, although it does frustrate me that yet again the UK has to wait for another film by Pixar. I think what’s worse is that a lot of the countries who aren’t America have to pay double to see both films as the 2 for 1 deal doesn’t apply anywhere else, seemingly.

It doesn’t bother me too much as my cinema has an unlimited movie card, so i’ll be seeing both for relatively cheap (Free, although the subscription makes up for it ) when it’s all said and done. But still, I feel for those who should have to fork out double just because they don’t have the luxury of being in the states, who get all the good movie treatment…

Shakes fist

It is a must see for any Pixar fans. The re-rendering in 3D doesn’t take anything away at all. It’s not really distracting, and it adds a real sense of depth. Absolutely wonderful seeing them back to back like this!

I wanted to go to the premiere. That’s in 35 minutes (From this posting.).

But I can’t because of my surgery in my Jaw. I’m not allowed to do much for the next 3 days and I’m in pain. :frowning:

But I WILL go see it. As soon as physically possible. That most likely will be this coming Monday night.

To anyone who sees it opening day: Could they post an EXTREMELY detailed summary of the Toy Story 3 trailer? I’m really impatient.

Bryko614: Can do sir!

Well, aside from the fact that I will be re-living one of the defining moments of my childhood by watching this movie in theaters again and that it will be in “3-DDDDDDDD!” (that’s my fave part of that tv spot, lol), I have been hearing that just the whole experience of going to the double feature is all kinds of fun, like there’s trivia games, all kinds of Toy Story goodness and of course the TS3 sneak peek. I can’t think of a more fun way to watch a movie

I just got back from the double feature and let me tell you. It was awesome!

For anyone who says that the kids won’t be able to sit still during the double feature. I think it might depend on the kids in question because in my showing it was a packed theater mixed with kids and adults. The kids were not fussy in the slightest. Everyone had a good time. The only people who didn’t were these two adults who actually tried to record everything from the trailers to the end of Toy Story 2. The manager found out and kicked them out of the theater after getting what they recorded… as far as I know.

Now when it comes to the intermission animations and trivia… I didn’t get that at all. What my boyfriend, me and everyone in the theater got was this:

Manager walks in during the credits

Manager: For those of you waiting for Toy Story 2 please note that there is a 15-20 minute intermission so you have plenty of time to stretch your legs or go to the bathroom.

Yeah, that sucked. He did the same thing with Toy Story 2 because some people bought tickets for that instead and stood afterwards for the 1st movie. The only animation I remember getting was right before the 3d trailers and movies started it showed a cute picture that had Woody wearing 3d glasses and next to him it said “Please put on your 3d glasses.”

For Bryko614 and anyone else who wants to know a little more.

These are the parts I remember… If I forgot something or whatnot please correct me.
It plays a very nice song. While the song is playing you see a cute little home video of Andy playing with his toys. His mom in one scene says something like “Andy, Molly look over here for a minute!” after she says that you see the toys laying around him as he plays with Woody(If I remember right).

One of the scenes that they showed which I thought was adorable was you see Andy laying down on his bedroom floor watching a movie. He has a blanket over him, wearing his cowboy hat, set around him are his toys, facing the tv. Right before the scene ends you see him take some popcorn and put it in Rex’s mouth. (Btw Andy looks so much better in this!) You pretty much see the same things that were in the countless descriptions that have been posted as well.

Now some might be wondering about how Buzz got damaged. Now this is what happened. (Or at least what I can remember)

They tried to get out of the daycare (looks like Buzz tried to jump out of a window or something.), they failed that mission. The toys during this scene seemed to be a little worried… wondering if when they reset Buzz will he remember that he is a toy. Anyway, the toys are on top of Buzz. It looks like he was freaking out or something. Hamm starts reading the manual on how to reset him. They needed a paperclip, but couldn’t get one in time so Woody yelled “Rex, use your finger!”. Rex pressed the button and Buzz finally got enough strength to throw everyone off of him. You hear some Spanish music playing and then it cuts to Buzz acting a bit like a fool. My favorite part of this was when Buzz got down on one knee and held Jessie’s hand. Jessie looks a little weirded out as she says “Did you guys fix Buzz?”. Then more Spanish music plays as we hear Buzz speaking in Spanish (I’m guessing it’s his Spanish voice actor… he sounded familiar to me.)
That’s pretty much what I remember so if anyone feels the need to correct the parts I mentioned or something then please do. I can’t wait till the trailer comes out online because I am so saving it to my favorites on youtube. XD

First and Foremost…long time no see Pixar Planet!!! :sunglasses:

Long story about my 2-3 month hiatus…but enough of that, I decided now was the right time to get back on track…::-D)

Got to go and see the double feature today…ONE OF THE MOST NOSTALGIC DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!

Yea I will say they did a small amount of touching up for Toy Story but the rawness of it’s prime is still there. (wacky animation and such)…

As far as the Intermission I got the real deal…Pretty much consisted of trivial questions related to both movies, and showed a few of those animated shorts from the Toy Story 10th Anniversary DVD (those who have it know what I’m talking about ).

They also gave you a peak at the super early production ideas for Toy Story (when Woody and Buzz’s models were completely different, also seen on the 10th Anniversary DVD)

Throughout there were random commentaries from the cast of the movie giving you that sense that they were waiting during the intermission with you…kept me interested…:-D)

As far as the EPIC TRAILER…Karma Wolf gave a pretty good description, I’ll just add my bits and piece here n there:
The beginning sequence is pretty much exactly how he explains it showing a few home videos of Andy’s experiences with his toys.( I will DEFINITELY agree when I say they’ve redeemed themselves wit Andy’s look. They tweaked it to a point that it looks so much better but it still looks like him.)

I’ll skip the whole daycare part since it’s been explained. (Spanish speaking Buzz definitely caught me off guard…

We do get a glimpse at the older Andy, still true to character which was great, you can still see that he has that little childhood connection with Buzz and Woody.

Throughout most of the trailer though I was kinda spaced out due to the fact that this whole thing didn’t really seem real until I saw this. My hype went through the roof after realizing that It’s really gonna happen…

I really want to know what song that was being played, I know it was by Randy Newman, but I need to add it to my ipod… like now.

Just got back. The theater played Toy Story, then the short bit explaining that there is going to be a 10 minute intermission between shows, immediately followed by the intermission. Very helpful projectionist…

Wasn’t very crowded either. About 1/4 full. I suppose it is a ‘kids’ movie and 7PM is pretty late for many parents.

I didn’t get the TS goodies for the intermission, it just did standard theater junk. DANGIT.

TS got a bit of a touchup, and the 3D added quite a bit, thankfully, it wasn’t lame at all. Makes me glad. Still, like Pixfan said, there’s that look of the original, the touchups aren’t enough to make it feel different, just look nice. TS2 was more or less the same, but better since it’s on the big screen. Both were fantastic.

The trailer was incredible. Seriously incredible. I need an advance screening, and I might hit 10 views or something when it comes out, hehe. Very stoked.

I loved seeing the movies on the big screen for the first time! And I think that that was probably the best 3-D experience I’ve ever had in the theater!. Although, they ended up just showing the old Toy Story 3 trailer! I was so disappointed! I think I’m going to go to another theater with my friends later this week, I just hope that I don’t have to wait until the movie is out of theaters to see it! :unamused:

I saw it yesterday! It was quite fun, and great to see it on the big screen again. It’s been a long time since I watched those back to back. It was interesting noting how the animation progressed from 1 to 2. The sound was amazing, on some effects I could really feel it. The trailer for TS3 told me a little more about what was going to happen. The 5 minute intermission had trivia questions and bits from the dvds. And like a super nerd, I answered them. What was really cool was that when me and my friend pulled up to the theater, there was a line going out the door and around the corner (luckily we bought our tix beforehand) and we wondered if they were all for Toy Story. A lot of them were, as it was crowded in the theater, and what was exciting is that there were a lot of people there our age, and even older, so we werent just sharing the space with a bunch of kids.

Oh, I don’t know…I’m really unsure now as there have been so many positive reviews of the double feature, but paying nearly ten pounds to see a single film in my case just seems so extortionate. Plus, I’m guessing that all of the cool fun Toy Story stuff like trivia questions and goodies and suchlike aren’t going to be available over here, plus I’m even doubting whether they’ll show the Toy Story 3 trailer. If they do, then I’ll go and see Toy Story but if they don’t, I’m just not sure. But there’s also the nostalgia that others of you have described, and I also just want to see what it’s like in 3D!
