Most of you will probably not care about this, but last night, I saw a commercial on Disney Channel announcing a new spinoff based on Sonny With a Chance, since Demi Lovato left the show due to personal reasons.
The new spinoff is titled So Random (which was the name of the show within the show), and will be featuring the original cast, but with Sterling Knight replacing Demi’s role.
Actually, it’s not a spin-off at all, that’s just what they’re calling the 3rd season. And I’m not too sure Sterling Knight will be replacing Demi, because I’m pretty sure I saw a new cast member in that commercial.
Sonny with a Chance was a good show. All That I never heard of, but as it is not Disney Channel, it is insignificant.
Sonny Munroe is my major TV character crush. She is gone now, and all that’s left is her actress and memories of her. This So Random thing is a terrible idea…the So Random parts of the show were awful…and now the WHOLE SHOW is going to be centered around it. The Amanda Show was like So Random, but The Amanda Show at least had interesting skits. The only So Random skits I care about are The Check-It Out Girls and The Real Princesses of New Jersey. And I don’t want the new girl, Mel, to be performing the Check-It Out counterpart to Tawni Hart, or even worse, Zora, that disgusting girl who I guess will be thirteen in this season.
This show has ended for me without Demi. Demi is the best singer ever in the history of the world, and she is a mighty fine actress too. And anyway, I have a crush on her. And I have as much chance of getting with her as I have with getting a girlfriend at my university, even though I’ve never met Demi.
Lover_of_Fiction: All That was a sketch comedy show on Nickelodeon, much like The Amanda Show (Amanda Bynes actually started out on All That before she got her own show). It ran for 10 years up to 2005, and the cast continually changed. I only saw a few episodes of the later seasons. Personally, I enjoyed The Amanda Show a lot more; All That’s skits ran a little too long for me (except for the one about Sugar and Coffee, that one made me laugh).
But I’m surprised you’ve never heard of it! Then again, I’m not one to judge.
From your description of All That, it cannot be properly said that Sonny With A Chance is a rip-off. SWAC is about actors in a sketch comedy show and what goes on behind the scenes of such a show. Now So Random could be said to be a rip-off, but then again, wasn’t Whose Line is it Anyway? a sketch comedy show? If so, you might as well say that every hospital show is a rip-off of ER, and every fish movie is a rip-off of Finding Nemo, though this one can’t be:
I wish Disney would actually put money into animated show’s. Phinea’s and Ferb is my favorite. I think the character’s in there act more real then in these Disney live action show’s.
“So Random” is the worst thing I have ever seen on television. In the first episode, there is a terrible Wheel of Fortune sketch in which a musician girl keeps singing thorughout, Chad Dylan Cooper acts like a baby, and Nico is a little girl, and half his hair comes off. The letter woman slams one of the letters on Chad’s head. Then there is a zobmie sketch, which is really disgraceful. And a sketch about a little girl who throws tantrums when no one is around to hear her, but pretends to be nice elsewise. Then there was a sketch about a boy in a classroom full of soon-to-be-dropouts who kept saying “You’re not gonna believe this” or something of that nature.
Watching the theme song is like watching someone flush a squirrel down a toilet while singing “Oops I Did It Again.”
Admittedly, there was a sketch that I did like, called “Helmet Ninjas,” though it was the song I liked and Chad’s character, not the whole sketch itself. It sounds nice because they do it to the tune of “Power Rangers,” which is really pleasiing to the ear.
Since one episode isn’t enough to judge, instead of posting this right away, I will watch the second episode to give a review of it.
NO WAIT, I can’t watch any more of it after seeing the comments…one episode is enough for me…
