Yeah, I kinda want to apologize about the things I said about Catholics in the “Evolution and Creation” debate; didn’t really meant it. Since young, my mum has kinda been biased against many stuff; Catholicism is one of them, but I know that doesn’t excuse me from saying those nasty things about them. Guess my head just wasn’t in the right place at that time.
I like this place. It used to have many people acting friendly towards me - well, until my ‘remarks’ got loose into the open. So, yeah, don’t really want that, especially since most of the guys here are really cool people. lizardgirl, rachelcakes1985 - and yes, even you, WALL-E. Jokes.
So, I’m sorry, again, if - no, THAT I offended everyone in this message board and, well, hopefully, you will accept my apology. If not, that is purely understandable…

Aww, don’t feel bad… You didn’t offend me and we can still be friends. A good tip is to focus on the points the person is making, rather than them as a person so you don’t get emotionally involved (even though it is hard to do, at times…) and get your feelings hurt or hurt others’ feelings. Religion is a loaded topic, but at the same time it should still be talked about, you just have to aim to learn and educate rather than attack (not talking specifically about you.) Don’t leave, you’re cool.
I would also like to apologise a bit, more specifically to A113 and Al-bob, if I’ve offended you or my attitude has been nasty. Sometimes I try to be assertive or straight forward but it can come across as blunt or rude. I still stand by what I say and I’m not backing down on what I said, but if I came across as rude, I’m sorry. Hopefully we can still continue our debate and we can all learn to be tolerant of others’ views, open our minds a bit, even if we won’t ever agree. =)
Well I gotta admit, I was more than a bit miffed by some of the anti-Catholicism that I read. I guess I forgot that that kind of thinking still exists.
Anyway, I quickly got over it, and thanks for the apology. I’m not angry. But I hope you dont think you have to leave now. We all say (or type) stuff that we shouldnt sometimes
It is a debate board, WALL-E, but that doesn’t mean people have the right to directly insult someone. That is not debate, that’s just, well, insulting them.
Not that you did that. I’m just pointing that out. I didn’t see your posts, but yes, I understand how sometimes you say things that you don’t mean in a debate. Sometimes I’m thisclose to saying some kinda nasty things about Democrats on the political boards. You are not alone
But I think it is really mature that you realize and accept your mistake and are apologizing for it. Few people are humble enough to do so.
Anyway, it’s really great how the members here are so nice and forgiving. I would try my best not to take that for granted, of course, and hopefully, my contributions here would be much better than those I gave in the previous forums I was in (not pretty).
Its okay…i struggle with debates too so if i have offended anyone i ask now for forgiveness. Its my fault that this tread is required so i do take some responsibility for the problems cuased.
