Of course, it’s for the money
Wait…what? Now all of the sudden there’s a third and it’s in 3d??? This just gets worse and worse.
Oh my God, was one not enough?
I finallly saw the first one, and it was pure awful. What could they possibly do for a sequel? Did the first one even make any money?
You know what bothers me most about the first one? The “moral.” It said that it was because of our probe that the aliens got enslaved, right? Basically saying we shouldn’t go out and send our contraptions in fear of hurting someone else. But then they go to all that effort to make sure the space program stays open! So what, is the message to keep NASA open but make sure they just sit there and do nothing? What kind of moral is that?
I take great respect of my childhood. Just because it’s for children in no way means it can’t have a good solid plot and real jokes. Though there were one or two jokes that did make me laugh, most of the story and humor was just stupid. And some parts just don’t make sense. Like, when the monster thing was chasing them through the cave, why the heck did they take the time to hide behind a rock for Ham to give a pep talk when the exit was RIGHT FRIGGIN IN FRONT OF THEM? The thing was stuck, they could have gotten a clean getaway without whats-her-face getting eaten! I know they had to put in a super-cliche moral there, but really?
And there was a little too much sexual humor for me. A banana in your pants? Really? You’re gonna go that low in a G rated film?
And I agree that Ham was BY FAR the most annoying, obnoxious protagonist EVA. And I sit through two hours of Lightning McQueen! Mulitple times! Why would I want to teach my kids to act like some idiotic, unrespectful jerk who practically sexually harasses the main female protagonist? Plus, they picked just about the WORST voice possible for the villain. When I saw the movie, I had to skip by all scenes with him except the ones vital to the almost non-existant plot.
Sorry for my rant. I just had to get that out.
Rac_Rules: Yeah, Ham pretty much is the worst most annoying obnoxious character I’ve ever seen in a movie. No Joke. Pretty much everything he says is harassment to Luna. In my Space Chimps/Spirited Away Fanfic practactly everything Ham says is [spoil] What Should we name our kids?[/spoil]
Adleast the plot for Space Chimps 2 says that Comet or whatever is going to space [i:11r1ddk9]by himself[/i:11r1ddk9]. One more thing. Why would there first sequel be direct to dvd, when there third one will be theatrical and in 3-D?
Is Ham more annoying than Jar Jar Binks?!
Yes. Sad but true.
New Title.
But I thought it was about comet going back to space. Maybe they haven’t started yet.
[i:38yjbjua]Zartog Strikes Back[/i:38yjbjua] how cliche is that
Reminded me of “Mewtwo Strikes back”
Can’t say I’ll ever see anythng from these movies outside the commercials.
I actually am watching the firt one now for the first time… I just bought it the other day…

WOOHOO U RULE, FOR WHO EVER WROTE THIS MESSAGE LOL, coz love space chmps and im 13 lol i was luahigng alot in it, ant wait for number 2 lol hahaha
This is terrible. Space chimps was the worst movie I’ve ever seen! It made me want to watch one of those Brazilian Pixar rip-offs!
Oh for the love of… NO. Just NO.
I watched the first one, and it wasn’t that good, you got the odd chuckle here and there, but overall… the ONLY worse computer animated movie is possibly Shrek 3, and I’m actually debating that right now in my head (Space Chimps slipped from my subconscience entirely for a long time).
Also the animation was terrible. Plus the voice acting was ‘meh’. Or at least… I think that might be more the animations fault- it didn’t seem like the designs of the characters (as poor as they were) fit the voices all that well in some respects and it all felt so artifical that I could never suspend my disbelief enough to get into it. Plus the story was just… what? Yeah.
I mean Planet 51 was actually so bad it was good in some respects so I count it as one of my ‘guilty pleasures’ (yes I’ve seen it) but it had some redeemable qualities. Does anyone have this for Space Chimps? Like at all?
Plus, the sequel they’re doing… a cliche revenge sequel where they’ll kill the ‘big bad’ no doubt with substandard humour. It really gives that impression.
A mediocre movie with a terrible sequel.
-Face Palm-
Wh-
I didn’t even know the first one, you know, exists.
Is it just me, or did Ham’s voice suddenly gain about half an octave? XD Way to hide the fact that you couldn’t get the original voice actor back, guys. Now instead of Andy Samburg its Tom Kenny, the guy who does…Spongebob!? NOOOOEES! Why would you do that, Spongebob!?
Anyway, the story looks lackluster, the animation is still pretty mediocre and the characters are still annoying. Still, I might see it, if not just to see how bad it is. XD
When I saw the trailer for the movie I knew it was bad. Why are they making a sequal?
Eh. I haven’t watched the first, so I can’t judge the sequel.
Is there a trailer? Didn’t this studio, like, make that WWII pigeon movie? I think it’s Victorious or something… no, Valiant. I always wanted to see that one. Is it good?
But yeah, Space Chimps 2. Not terribly excited, unless reviews prove otherwise.
