Do you think you’ll pick up Spore?

I was just wondering if anyone has looked into this game. By what I’ve seen of it, it looks to be absolutely amazing. And the thought of making and controlling a creature looking like someone from Monsters Inc. is just too much. Release date is September 7th in the US and September 5th in Europe coming out on PC, Mac, iPhone, and the Wii.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this game and whether or not you’re going to pick it up? I’m not a big “computer gamer”, but this just looks too good to pass up.

Here’s a quick overview: Spore is a game that basically lets you create your creature starting from a cell to a full grown civilization. It has five phases including Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Now through these different stages, you have the option to create any and everything! You’ll make vehicles, boats, spaceships, even plants! It’s not an online game, but the planets are filled with things other people have created as well as stuff you have created. So, no, someone won’t just come and blow up your planet. To me, Space phase looks to be very cool. Basically, you can fly around the entire galaxy, and colonize other planets, terraform them, and discover other alien species. You can even visit Earth and our solar system. How cool is that?

I know that I personally will probably not pick up this game, but I know my brother will. If I really want to, I’m sure I can borrow it from him. :smiley: But this game does sound really cool… I hope to try it sometime.

I hadn’t heard of Spore before you mentioned it, Remy14, but it looks pretty cool! And I’m definitely getting that Monsters, Inc. feel from it. Unfortunately, it isn’t coming out on any platforms that I regularly use for gaming, aside from possibly the PC, so I’ll have to actually look at the game once it’s released to decide whether or not to buy it.

Today is the big day! I’m going to pick up Spore in about ten minutes. You guys should check out some of the Wall•E’s people have made for this game - some are incredible.

directive! those are fantastic! Wall-E looks so cool! I’ll definetly start looking at more trailers and stuff for the game.

Man, if I’m able to create Pixar characters with that thing, I’ll pay anything to get a hold of it! :smiley:

Those are super cool! It seems like this game has alot of imagination in it. It looks great.

I’ve actually been seeing a lot of ads for Spore, and I’m really tempted by it. But I don’t want to get addicted just as the new school term has started! :laughing:

Just installed the demo, and I must say, it is not bad. Nevertheless, it is not perfect, and this is what I got after trying to create “Sully:”

More like… Sully-less.

Yeah, I did not know how to fatten him… <_<" Besides, mine was a trial version, so it probably do not have those functions anyway…

Wait till I get the full version…

I must say that this game is absolutely epic. Watching my little creature become a space-born species was just awesome. I love terraforming planets and such. It never gets old.

I’m thinking of buying this game, it looks good. First evolution, then you rule the world and then you conquer the galaxy and then the UNIVESRE!!! This my type of game. It sort of reminders me of Age of Empires 2.

I’ve been playing Spore a bit, and here is my species:

The all new WALL-G (War And Land Lawmaker • Gaia-class) is armed to teeth including the following:

• Rocket Launchers on shoulders
• With new 100% Capable and Durable working treads, need not let immobility be a war crime!
• New Halogen eye lamps and chest lamps
• Sniper cannons equipped to Tumbler designed arms
• Also holds 100 songs

Info: Gaia is the planet my creatures inhabit. Tumblers are the name of the creatures, and although i love this creation, it’s DEFINITELY not the best tank you could have xD
