You know, I have never really put much thought into this Wall*e ride speculation, but from the facts you present, martini, I now think it’s going to happen. “Auto” being the pilot of the ride does indeed make sense.
Your speculations are reasonable, I must admit, but I have to give my opinion on this and say,
“No! Nuh nuh…no. Maybe it’s just me, but I would be absolutely devastated if they replaced Star Tours with a WALL-E themed attraction. Yes, the ride itself is rather out-dated, but the fact of the matter is that, although Pixar has merged with Disney, I would still like to see some variety in the park itself. I do love Pixar, but I wouldn’t want it to start taking over the park in general. Sure the two companies have merged, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that every new attraction that rolls into the park has to be Pixar related.”
Eheh. Yeah. Sorry about that. I guess I’m just so attatched to the “glory days” rides and services in the park that I wouldn’t want anything to change. I’m already pretty upset that they took out the Sky Ride and People Movers attractions, and those events took place years ago.
Well, lets see? If Star tours was replaced into a Wall-E ride, and if (it is possible) Autotopia was replaced into a Cars ride, then Tommorowland could verywell turn into Pixar land!
Mitch- I think that Star Tours needs to be updated!
I mean why do people come back to Disney World, because theres always some new stuff. Anyways I live in Florida and go there a lot and everytime I go there seems to be something new.
martini - I dunno. Maybe it’s just me? I go back to Disneyland for the nostalgia, the memories, and the overall experience I’ve partaken in since I was a lil’ youngin’. I don’t mind it when new attractions are installed; it’s when old favorites are replaced that gets me riled up. But, like I said, it could be just me…
Mitch- Don’t get me wrong, I love Star Tours. But rememeber that old ride about the Alien that was replaced by Stitch’s Great Escape. Well that’s what i see, the same old attraction with familiar characters and an updated look.
martini - Oh, I see. So, would you want Star Tours and its Star Wars-themed universe to be entirely replaced with the world of WALL-E, or would you rather have the Star Wars theme remain, but include WALL-E characters in the attraction?
I’m not a huge fan of Star Wars (I was) so i would like it to be completely removed. Think about it who would merge those universes. Anywyas take no offense in my above comments. And don’t you think Auto would be a great auto pilot
check out jvpixarnews now and see what i mean
They’re not gonna replace Star Tours, Anthony Daniels (who plays C3PO in both the films and the ride) has confirmed that he has filmed a new film for the ride that will go in a new update of Star Tours.
I’m personally thinking that for rides, Wall-E will be moving into where Honey, I Shrunk the Audience is now and maybe this Buy-N-Large company will take over part of Innoventions, showing off Wall-E.
martini - Oh no. No offense meant, dude. I was just…umm…expressing my opinion, and I, in turn, respect yours as well.
Get out! Well, it sure is about time they added some new footage to that particular attraction. I wouldn’t want the ride itself to be replaced entirely, but it is rather soothing/relieving to know that it will be updated in the future…
I also agree with your statement/prediction concerning the Honey I Shrunk the Audience/Innoventions attraction being replaced with a BuyNLarge-type outlet.
Except Star Tours is at MGM Studios, TSS. Tomorrowland is at Magic Kingdom.
Anyway, a good ride is a good ride and should NOT be tampered with. Journey Into Imagination at Epcot is a perfect example of what happens when one is. I can guarantee the fans-for-life died inside after embarking on the now not-so-imaginative journey. I sure did.
There needs to be an update to Star Tours as soon as possible. Star Tours is completely outdated. The last time I was on Star Tours everyone in my car just sat there with little enthusiasm. But I doubt Wall-E will be the replacement for Star Wars, possibly the biggest movie franchise ever.
