Star Wars Celebration IV

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far

away…

…there was Star Wars! And dang, what a fun time I

had at the convention that celebrated its 30th anniversary…

The

“Star Wars Celebration IV” took place at the

Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, Calfornia, and attracted highly-devoted fans of all ages from

around the globe. Spanning a course of five days – from May 24 to May 28 – , the celebration itself

“wowed” its crowds with hours of fun-filled entertainment, merchandise to die for, and celebrities from

all corners of the Star Wars universe.

My dad, sister, and I had the

priveledge of attending three days of the fun, from Friday to Sunday, and we obviously enjoyed ourselves to the

maximum…considering that we are rabid fans of the films and have loved Star Wars

since the day we saw it with our own eyes…

Strictly speaking, I had way

too much fun at the dang thing, and got to meet such celebrities/actors as Jake Lloyd (a.k.a., young Anakin

Skywalker) and Anthony Daniels (a.k.a., C-3PO). I must say that it was a real pleasure meeting them. Anthony

Daniels is someone I had wanted to shake hands with for years and years; he was quite a nice gentleman too, as I

suspected. Poor Jake Lloyd, on the other hand, looked like he was absolutely pooped from signing autograph after

autograph. And yet he still found time to sign my sketchbook (making it

priceless now…!). Anthony Daniels did the same:

picture and autograph. My compliments, gentlemen.

My sister also got to meet a celebrity: Matthew Wood

(a.k.a., the voice behind General Grievous). You should have seen the look on her face; she was absolutely

ecstatic. :stuck_out_tongue:

Below are some of the pictures I took for your viewing pleasure:

WOOOO!!!

Those pictures are so awesome!!! Thanks Mitch!!!

Spider-Man - Sure thing!

Those aren’t even half of the pictures I got, as I had to delete quit a few of them. I just picked out the best

shots and submitted them. I’m glad you like them!

Wow, awesome pictures Mitch. You seemed to have a lot of fun.
The Star Swordsman - You

better believe it!

And thank you!

You are welcome!

 • Thanks!

Nope, I was a wuss and didn’t put on one sleeve of

a Jedi robe or anything! Of course, who could blame me? I was the only one who didn’t have any costumes to wear,

so I had to watch my dad and sister have fun playing Darth Vader and Princess Leia while I walked around in my

pitiful little “Jedi Academy” t-shirt. Oh well, I’m not complaining. I was just happy to be at the

place! And do you know how much some of those outfits cost? They’re…expensive. (snigger) :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for

asking, though!

Mitch- Dang, that sounds really cool! I’m glad you had a great time and I love

the pics!

Oh yeah! Even the most basic costume can cost

a couple of hundred… And if you do dress up in clothes from around the house (an old dressing gown for a Jedi

robe for example), you can sort of get laughed at. = P But it’s cool that you had fun (and got to

go).

Wow! You are one lucky person!

I like Jar Jar Binks. :stuck_out_tongue:

(snigger)

sharpie - Thank you very much!

rachelcakes - Heheh – yep: “expensive” is the word. Oh well.

Perhaps one of these days I’ll get an X-Wing fighter pilot suit or something…when I have the dough for it.

And I would love to see your home video!

Gasduude - You can say

that again. (snigger)

nightwheel - :open_mouth: I take that as a joke…

(snigger)

I think the most attctable pic I see

there is probably your sister against that alien. It looks so cute.

no I realy do like the chacter Jar Jar Binks. He’s my fav star

wars chacter.

I don’t really have a favorite. Just as long as he/she

wields a light saber, then I will like him/her.

Jar Jar Binks has to be

the most annoying character of all time.

Speaking of Star Wars,

Being one of the most avid

self-proclaimed Star Wars fans in Pixar Planet, some of you might have seen this

post coming.

I didn’t get the chance to go to Celebration IV for several reasons, but I hope you had

a great time there (which I’m sure you did ). In order to make up for the loss, I’m planning to hold a

Star Wars marathon during the summer. I’ve been planning to hold a marathon since I

graduated from high school last year, but I’ve simply been way too busy with university-related

stuff.

And as for the Jar Jar Binks fiasco, many people (including the majority of Star

Wars fans!) find him terribly annoying. I beg to differ, however - I don’t find him obtrusive to

the films at all, to be frank. (So don’t worry nightwheel - you’re not alone

)

P.S.

My most memorable Star Wars-related experience would

probably be that day when a high school substitute teacher took me on for a Star

Wars trivia challenge, which I eventually won. I had a feeling that he didn’t know what the

garbage chute number in A New Hope was, so I decided to ask him about it - I’m glad

I did that because it worked out in my favor .

nigthwheel - Ahh – I see. Well, like CountSolo said,

a majority of Star Wars fans are not rabid lovers of Jar Jar (myself included), but

there are a select few who don’t find him as annoying as others do.

CountSolo - Heheh. I was waiting for you to post…

Aw man – I’m

sorry that you didn’t have a chance to attend. It was, indeed, awesome though, and I did have a wonderful time.

Perhaps you’ll be able to engage in the next celebration… You’d love it!

That’s cool concerning

your “test”/trivia challenge, by the way. Awesome… (snigger)

3263827, right?

I think I like

either Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, or Obi Wan.
