Stop ratting on Cars!

Why do

so many people hate/dislike CARS? :frowning: I mean it’s an awsome movie!
Some say it’s not Pixar’s best but to me

it’s awsome. CAn someone please explain?

I don’t

hate it, in fact this is 1 of my fave Pixar films. Most people complain that this film differs from previous

projects, lacking humourous scenes & too long. But IMO I loved it!

I think at this point expectations of pixar film’s are

running high. In fact this was the first Pixar film I can recall that everyone was calling a flop even before it

came out!

Many people blow it off because it is a "Nascar’ film and only those fans will like it.

People also see it as more cynical then the other films.

I do enjoy NASCAR ,

but that is not why Cars is my 2nd favorite film ( it’s behind Finding Nemo ) . I love it because of the

nostalgia , and the nostalgia is around the 50’s which is the time I have nostalgia for ( even though i’m not

that old ! ) . Not to mention all of the animation and humor (" he did WHAT in his cup ?" ) !

I

have no idea why people don’t like the film , I mean what’s not to love ?

I dislike Cars, but it’s for a mixture of reasons. None of the characters

really connected to me, I wasn’t keen on the idea of characterising cars, and for me, it just didn’t compare to

previous Pixar films. That’s not to say that I hated it- it was a film worth seeing, definitely- I’m just not a

fan.

Personally, I love Cars. It is a really good movie. I love the music, the

racing, the laughs, everything. It is just not my favorite Pixar movie. Now everyone has their own opinions, and

I respect that. So love this movie to death. So wishes that is should never have been made. Me, like I said, I

love it, it isn’t my favorite.

  • don’t forget nostalgia ! I know how you dislike nostalgia !

gottalovepixar- Yep, that’s another point! It has much too much nostalgia.

        What is nostaligia?

Nostalgia is a longing for things or situations of the past.

Thanks!!

Your Welcome

Well I will say that I love

every Pixar film and Cars is right up there with my favorites. I think a huge part of that had to do with me

being a big Nascar fan. Little things, like everything from Darrell Waltrip (Darrell Cartrip) announcing to the

small decals on the racecars (in real life there’s MOOG and on the #95 it’s MOOD). Of course there’s cars

voiced by former drivers Richard Petty, Mario Andretti and current ones such as Dale Earnhardt Jr and Michael

Schumacher. It has the greatest racing action in any movie, beats Days of Thunder and Talladega Nights any day.

Such attention to detail like the “marbles”, or small chunks of tire rubber which is commonly found

next to the wall of a turn. That detail is what pushes Pixar films over the edge. Some people don’t like Cars,

but I think John Lassetter made this movie just for me, like he always does. I think I’d have to give him an

“A+” again, as I admit, my eyes were watery at the end of the last race.

Sorry to ramble, but

this is my first post after a while of lurking. I look forward to a lot of great discussions and many more great

films from the fine folks at Pixar in the future.

Welcome to Pixar Planet Lightning95!

People are entitled to their own opinions but to me Cars is the best movie ever made!! I am a car fan and

Ferrari enthusiast so an entire movie of living cars is simply awesome beyond words!! On top of that the story is

great, the movie is loaded with action and humour and an incredible attention to details. And the characters have

loads of personality. It’s incomprehensible to me why anyone would bad-mouth this movie. It’s cute and funny,

has a good morale and people of all ages can enjoy it. And technically it’s a masterpiece!

I

didnt understand that either! Whenever I read the reviews they always said its a little too long (I never at any

point felt the movie was dragging on), that because they were cars, the characters werent expressive enough (I

thought they were plenty expressive, but where do you draw the line for that?) and that there wasnt as much heart

(again, I thought there was enough heart, but again, where’s the standard for that?). Anywho, Cars is my fav

Pixar movie, beating out Nemo which I didnt think would happen. But here I am 5 months later and still just as

crazed about it as the first time I saw it
