Stridin' with the Stanton

I posted this on Upcoming Pixar and thought that I should paste it here as well, just to get things straight:

To any and all “Pixar Planet” members: If you come running to my defense, please do it in a decent manner. I don’t want anyone to comfort me and say that my work is acceptable just because they know me well. If there are flaws in my work…then point them out; I would be most grateful for it.

Dory’s Defender - Thanks, dude. Keep in mind, though, that I’m not new to these types of situations at all. In fact, I’ve dealt with them during various times in my life. It’s just the fact that I’m so dog-gone sensitive that’s the problem. I take things extremely seriously when it comes to my personal views and/or opinions on a matter. If someone thinks that I am an idiot or that my work is idiotic, I immediately jump to the conclusion that I’m worthless. Of course, I know that this is not true, but that’s me.

I think I know which post/thread you are referring to. It was either a proposed/suggested idea or was a thread that simply deteriorated into the backround some months ago. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the name of it either, but if I happen to uncover it, I will let you know.

I don’t think I was cooing over you, Mitch and I thought your write-up was great… And if anyone took the time to make a write-up and include photos as well, I would first thank them for doing so and then if there was anything they could improve on, then I would suggest things they could improve on.

But they didn’t do that. So basically it’s not what they said, but the way they said it that’s the problem.

Ahem…

Right, well, I took the problem up to my mom and she settled – er, we settled – the whole matter. I provided her with a link to the article/review itself and the Upcoming Pixar page that contains comments by the anonymous users. She scanned both sources and wrote me a note explaining her opinion on the manner. Basically, she stated the same thing you guys have been trying to tell me all along: that there are creeps out there who go looking for someone to pick on, that the anonymous individuals in question most likely assumed that I was an older citizen that had submitted a “poor” write-up, and that situations such as this will crop up in my life more than once, obviously… She also stated that she liked all of your comments on the matter, that you posted/have excellent tips, and that you were all very supportive. And she also mentioned that I should not keep on complaining about the whole thing… (snigger)

Sooo…I have come to apologize to you all. I regret my harsh actions, although I will not simply overlook what has recently taken place here the past couple of days. I’m just going to have to learn to listen to you guys and to keep my eyes and ears open for negative criticism and to disregard it (the criticism) as simple folly when it is planted. I shouldn’t let petty problems like this bother me, but I must also not bear any burden on you guys either. Believe me, I sincerely appreciate the back-up you all have presented/given to me. I really do. I actually didn’t expect everyone to come to my defense; I am almost overwhelmed with gratefulness. You all are wonderful and mean alot to me, and that’s the pizza pickin’ truth. Heheh.

Again, thank you all for the support, and I apologize for the…“rashness” on my part.

“You have a…rash?” - Colette

Oh Mitch. Heheh. hugs

You don’t have to apologise for your “rashness”. That’s just how you felt at the time, and that’s that! I’m glad you are feeling better about the whole situation though, and take it as a life lesson so that in the future it won’t affect you as much. We’ve all been there, and to be honest I probably would have been as upset as you were…

I’m glad that you appreciate our support. I’m sure that I speak on behalf on all of those who did support you, that it was more like second nature to defend you, than a burden.

Lol. My…“rash”. (snigger)

Yep, the Mitch is back! I’m glad to be out of that mess. I feel like I’ve just transported myself back to Earth from the planet Pluto, which just goes to show how seriously I take these sorts of things. Curse the sensitivity nerve and all its comrades…! :stuck_out_tongue:

So yeah, I’m glad you’re okay. You guys are sweet beyond measure, I swear. “Second nature”… Gee whiz… hugs everyone

Just found this thread. Sounds like you had a great time, Mitch!
What, no pictures of the building with the 7 dwarfs “holding up” the roof?

I loved your reporting:

"They also created a list of things that were not to be included in their films:

  • No “I want” moment

Well, there goes the single key ingredient to every single Disney animated film ever made…

Mitch, the thing about the internet is that people can act like jerks because they’re anonymous. It’s just that simple. 99% of us out here know to be civil regardless if our real names are used or not. But no matter where you go, no matter what you do, there will always be that 1% of people with boring lives filled with nothing to do but flame. Heck, my only criticism of your great post is that the most misspelled word in the English language (other than the word “misspelled”) is “a lot” which is of course two words, not one. But I’ll live. :sunglasses:

miafka - Thank you for reading my report! I appreciate the comments and criticism. :sunglasses:

Heh. Yes, I have come to realize that over the years, although, unforunately, it tends to get the better of me at times. You’re right, though. I’ll have to learn accept the sole fact and deal with the expected (or unexpected).

Ah! I shall have to correct my spelling mistake. Thank you very much for pointing that out.

Again, thanks for the comment and helpful tip!
