Tangled

has anybody checked out www.tangledtower.com? on there it says that there are new videos to be release tomorrow, Sunday, and so on and on. SQUEE! I can’t wait!

EDIT: Darn, they seemed to take down the videos with the dates on them, I hope they still release a new one tomorrow though!

Ya i like that its CGI and then i dont >> i want singing YDDD

…Yeah, seems like every time you want to prove something, they take it down so you look crazy. Don’t worry, I saw them, too
Waiting for tomorrow!

Aww, really? It’s really sweet of you to say that. :3 I’m glad to be one of your besties~ /snugs you

Nah. That viral video was based off a really recent and a popular internet meme, which derived from that original video I posted. xD There’s no way that’d be the new trailer (and even if it was, there would have been an announcement about it on official Disney websites beforehand, but there wasn’t any).

Anyway, here’s a new concept art Disney recently released! Drawn by Glen Keane.

Btw school just recently started for me, and on my way home from class today I stopped by my local theater to look at a list of movies playing this fall when I noticed a Tangled poster on the front door! It made me squee like a helpless fangirl, lol. :X Ahhh I can’t wait for this movie!!

I agree with a point ellie-jessie-eve made. Clearly the Disney Princess line is extremely profitable and rakes in big bucks for the company. You really can make any merchandise item out of a Disney Princess!

However, how will Rapunzel fair in this group? She is after all the first CGI Disney princess! I am very interested in seeing how she is handled in merchandize. Will she be kept in her GGI rendering and placed along side her fellow, but traditionally animated, princesses? That might look awkard astheticly. Or, will she appear also traditionally rendered as she does in much concept art?

I think this second option is the more likely of the two, especially for those “montage” princess items. I also think she would look just fine! Rapunzel looks great in all of those sketches and drawings. She looks exactly like she does in CGI!

I totally forgot to mention this, but this past weekend I went to my local theater and they had a HUGE Tangled poster. Like, as big as the wall in my room xD. I started freaking out while waiting to buy tickets! That art if really cool! I LURVE Glen Keane’s style

this really seems like the most practical solution. I doubt that they would have this CGI girl next to all the 2D ones. It would look really awkward :\ I guess we’ll have to wait and see though…

OMG YOU GUYS I JUST FOUND THE BEST THING EVER!! I have to be quick since I’m in my Campus atm and I start class in a few minutes, but remember the Flynn/Rapunzel meet and greet at Disneyland that ellie-jessie-eve posted about a couple of pages back? Well recently there was a screening and a press event for it, and Disney even released a new Photo featuring the two characters!!

Just thought I’d share this before I head off to class. There’s even a special Flynn Rider poster that guests receive with them next to the movie version of Flynn, with their heads on one of his ‘Wanted’ posters. I thought this was pretty cool! xDD

Danachii- that looks super cool! 8D Rapunzel looks perfect, but I don’t know- the guy who’s Flynn just seems kinda…off :\ ah well, I guess they can’t all look like they came straight from the movie xD. I’m extremely jealous of my neighbor who’s going to Disney World for Halloween! She’s totally gonna get to be there right when all the Tangled palooza starts! -__-

Yes, it was posted on our official Facebook page on our Fan Board section.

Over on Disney.com, we have a little sneak peek of the characters in the film. You’ve all been really patient

Yeah, that’s what I always thought about Naveen’s actor too. I guess its easier to find a decently pretty girl willing to dress up as a princess then an unbelievably hot guy willing to dress up as a prince.

And, I’m sorry if I sound obnoxious, but that wasn’t character video just the teaser with subtitles?

I have to say, that it was nice to hear some more from Mandy Moore and see a little more footage of Flynn’s getaway! does this mean that there’s also going to be a new video on Sunday? SQUEE! I get excited over anything that happens with this film xDD. And who did the voice over for that video? It sounded really…sexy :stuck_out_tongue:

OMIGOSH.
The animation is so pretty where Flynn is pulling a Tarzan to hop onto Maximus. It truly does look like a painting!
How many more days? Oh yeah, 74. (I have a countdown on my google page XD)

Oh, I didn’t notice that addition to the vid before. That’s nice.

Wow! I really love the Rapunzel meet and greet character. She looks great! Definitely one of the best representations of a Disney Princess I have ever seen.

She is also one of the only tough princesses, how many are their now?

You never know. :stuck_out_tongue: Usually, Disneyland and WDW hire different actors to represent the characters each time. I’ve seen a chubby Aladdin, a slim Aladdin, a short Aladdin and an extremely attractive Aladdin at the theme parks (via Youtube of course). I’m pretty sure as soon as Flynn becomes a more recognizable character around the parks, Disneyland will continue hiring new actors for him (although I really do have to agree with you about Flynn in that photograph, woody).

That was pretty epic  but I have to admit I’m getting a little tired of seeing those exact same scenes from the first trailer over and over again. I mean I’ve seen it so much that even Flynn’s classic “smoulder” line is starting to become less and less funny… at this point, I’m starting to wonder when the second trailer is ever going to come out. :\ I really hope it’s soon.

Haha, me too! xD I’ve actually been following this movie since I heard about it around 2008, so it’s actually been quite a long ride for me. Plus I’ve already gotten really attached to it. I just know I’m going to end up loving this film so much! <3

There’s 10 of them now, but there’s actually a lot of tough princesses. But Disney’s extremely terrible marketing campaign is just dumbing down all of these girls from their original personalities just to please children. For example: Belle is a really strong and independent woman who’s a bookworm with a lot of love, and Jasmine is a girl with a really strong sense of willpower who yearns for freedom and justice. Pocahontas is someone whose very free-spirited, mischievous, and spiritual, and Mulan is pretty much a tomboy who doesn’t even fit in with the expectations of a young Chinese woman of her time at all. Unfortunately because of Disney’s princess franchise, people don’t see any of these good traits and qualities in these girls. All they see is damsels, flowers, glitter, make up, jewelery, and sparkly dresses. :\

I have a huge problem with this franchise and quite frankly I think it’s completely OOC for all of Disney’s princesses and female characters, but that’s a rant for another day. And I don’t want to bore people with my useless opinion on this topic, LOL. :stuck_out_tongue:

Here’s a cool article about Tangled from deadline.com titled, Oscar’s Animation Race Just Got Tangled. Menken talks about the music a bit, and his thoughts about the Oscars.

Here’s a post from blueskydisney about an advanced screening of the movie, and how people felt about it.

WOW!

I’m so glad to hear this

I think the Disney Princesses all have stronger personalities than everyone makes them out to have, even the old ones. Rewatch, say, Cinderella, and that girl has a head on her shoulders. I tried to explore that in my fan fiction Meeting The Others (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5615783/1/Meeting_the_Others) Hooray for shameless self promotion! YEAH!

^I totally agree!
